  1. 1. CFD and data-driven modeling for safe spillway discharge

    Author : Shicheng Li; Anders Ansell; James Yang; Robert Boes; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Discharge safety; hydraulic design; spillway; discharge capacity; aerator; two-phase flow; air entrainment; energy dissipation; CFD; data-driven modeling; Betongbyggnad; Concrete Structures;

    Abstract : A spillway is a crucial dam structure that regulates water levels and prevents the dam from overtopping. The majority of the dams in the world were constructed before the 1980s. Compared to the current design flood standards, many spillways are undersized, e.g. READ MORE

  2. 2. Multipactor in low pressure gas and in nonuniform rf field structures

    Author : Richard Udiljak; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; detection methods; iris; low pressure gas; coax; nonuniform fields; Multipactor; microwave discharge; breakdown; discharge;

    Abstract : Resonant electron multiplication in vacuum, multipactor, is analysed for several geometries where the RF electric field is nonuniform. In particular, it is shown that the multipactor behaviour in a coaxial line is both qualitatively and quantitatively different from that observed with the conventionally used simple parallel-plate model. 3. 3. Rehabilitation after stroke with focus on early supported discharge and post-stroke fatigue

    Author : Anna Bråndal; Per Wester; Lillemor Lundin-Olsson; Eva-Lotta Glader; Lena von Koch; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Stroke; early supported discharge; post-stroke fatigue; patient reported outcome measurement; Fatigue assessment scale; cardiorespiratory training; sjukgymnastik; Physiotherapy;

    Abstract : Background Stroke is a major cause of disability worldwide. After treatment in a specialized stroke unit, early supported discharge (ESD) followed by home rehabilitation has shown to be an effective way to improve patient outcome and quality of care for persons with mild to moderate stroke. 4. 4. Implementing video conferencing in discharge planning sessions : leadership and organizational culture when designing IT support for everyday work in nursing practice

    Author : Malin Hofflander; Sara Eriksén; Christel Borg; Isabella Scandurra; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Applied health technology; Discharge planning; Healthcare; Implementation; IT solutions; Video conferencing; Qualitative research;

    Abstract : The overall aim of this thesis has been to study the implementation process concerning the use of video conferencing in discharge planning, during and after a development project in a region in southeast Sweden. The research approach has been developed within a new interdisciplinary research area, Applied Health Technology. READ MORE

  5. 5. Life after hip fracture - Impact of home rehabilitation versus conventional care and patients' experiences of the recovery process in a short- and long-term perspective

    Author : Lena Zidén; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Hip fracture; recovery; home rehabilitation; RCT; longitudinal; interviews; phenomenography; balance confidence; independence; supported discharge;

    Abstract : Aim In a short- and long-term perspective compare a geriatric home rehabilitation programme (HR) for patients with hip fracture with conventional care (CC), and to capture the patients experience of the consequences of the injury and their conceptions of what influences the recovery process. Method The thesis is based on two quantitative and two qualitative studies. READ MORE
