  1. 1. ROLE OF SURFACE OXIDES IN SINTERING OF CHROMIUM-ALLOYED STEEL POWDER

    University dissertation from ; Chalmers tekniska högskola; Gothenburg

    Author : Henrik Karlsson; [2005]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; water atomisation; surface analysis; sintering; chromium-alloyed steel.; Powder metallurgy; surface reactions; surface; surface oxide; SEM; XRD; AES; XPS;

    Abstract : During water-atomisation and handling of steel powder the surface inevitably oxidises. The surface bound oxide is an important factor in the processing of powder metallurgical (PM) steels, especially in case the powder contains elements forming stable oxides, such as Cr, Mn, and Si. 2. 2. Ion Beam Analysis - Development and Application of Nuclear Reaction Analysis Methods, in particular at a Nuclear Microprobe

    University dissertation from Nuclear Physics (Faculty of Science)

    Author : K Anders Sjöland; [1996]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ION BEAM ANALYSIS; HYDROGEN ANALYSIS; LITHIUM ANALYSIS; BORON ANALYSIS; FLUORINE ANALYSIS; BNCT; PSD; AFFECTIVE DISORDER; STIM; NRA; PIXE; SURFACE BARRIER DETECTORS; pNRA; Kärnfysik; Nuclear physics; DEPTH PROFILING; NUCLEAR MICROPROBE; PILE-UP REJECTION; Fysicumarkivet A:1996:Sjöland;

    Abstract : This thesis treats the development of Ion Beam Analysis (IBA) methods, principally for the analysis of light elements at a nuclear microprobe (NMP). The light elements are in this context defined as those with an atomic number Z of less than approximately 13 (aluminium). The work reported is to a large extent based upon multiparameter methods. 3. 3. Perceptual Surface Reconstruction

    University dissertation from Department of Cognitive Science, Lund University

    Author : Jens Månsson; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2005]
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; system; kontroll; Psychology; Psykologi; numerisk analys; Datalogi; systems; control; numerical analysis; Surface; Contour; Depth; Vision; Binocular; Computer science;

    Abstract : How does the brain transform the 2-D light arrays in our eyes into a meaningful 3-D description of surfaces around us? What assumptions does the visual system make about the world when information is incomplete? And how are these assumptions computationally expressed in this perceptual reconstruction process? These questions, and other aspects of binocular depth perception are analysed from a theoretical and computational perspective, as well as through empirical investigations. In paper one, the fundamentals of stereopsis are briefly reviewed, and the difficulties related with resolving the (stereo) correspondence problem are particularly discussed. READ MORE
