  2. 2. Electronic and Molecular Surface Structures of Dye-Sensitized TiO2 Interfaces

    Author : Maria Hahlin; Håkan Rensmo; Hans Siegbahn; Anders Sandell; Mats Göthelid; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Photoelectron spectroscopy; Electron spectroscopy; Solar Cells; Dye; TiO2; Surface; Interface; Electronic structure; Molecular surface structure; coadsorbent; Physics; Fysik; Fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : The dye-sensitized solar cell is a promising solar cell technology. In these systems the key process for light to electricity conversion is molecular in nature and is initiated in dye molecules adsorbed at a semiconducting surface. READ MORE

  3. 3. The effect of surface steps and oxides on the catalytic activity on model Pd and Rh catalysts

    Author : Chu Zhang; Synkrotronljusfysik; []

    Abstract : Do metal particles (including particles of pure metals, alloys, metal oxides and compounds) pose a hazard or risk to human health? In the light of this question, this thesis summarizes results from research conducted on metal particles, and describes the elaboration and implementation of an in vitro test methodology to study metal release from particles through corrosion and dissolution processes in synthetic biological media relevant for human exposure through inhalation/ingestion and dermal contact. Bioaccessible metals are defined as the pool of released metals from particles that potentially could be made available for absorption by humans or other organisms. READ MORE

  5. 5. Quantitative Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy

    Author : Anders Lorén; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : gold colloids; internal standard; surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy; SERS; PLS; PCA; SAM; quantitative;

    Abstract : Surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) is a very attractive technique for detection of various organic and inorganic molecules due to its sensitivity and selectivity. The surface enhancement is achieved when the molecules of interest are on or in the vicinity of a metal surface, usually gold and silver. READ MORE
