  1. 1. Exploring logistics actions enabling environmentally sustainable freight transport

    Author : Vendela Santén; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; co-operation; freight transport; actions; load factor; logistics; actors’ perspectives; sustainability; environment;

    Abstract : To curb unsustainable freight transport trends; such as transport growth, larger dependency on road transport and generally an increased share of greenhouse gas emissions from the sector, actions needs to be taken among actors in the logistics system. The purpose of this thesis is to explore logistics actions that enable environmentally sustainable freight transport. READ MORE

  3. 3. Complexity in transportation and logistics systems : A conceptual approach to modelling and analysis

    Author : Jonas Waidringer; Chalmers; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; management; measurement; logistics; modelling; complexity; transportation;

    Abstract : The basis for the thesis is to assess the usefulness of describing and analysing transportation and logistics systems as being complex systems. The reason and assumption being that in the future more integrated and sophisticated systems and solutions will be demanded. READ MORE

  4. 4. Adapting the environmentallysustainable logistics performancemanagement process

    Author : Maria Persdotter Isaksson; Helena Forslund; Setayesh Sattari; Robin von Haartmann; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; environmentally sustainable logistics; performance management process; ESLPM process; alignment; environmental strategy; Logistics; Logistik;

    Abstract : Process based approaches to environmentally sustainable logistics performancemanagement are lacking within organizations that buy logistics services (buyers) and thatsell logistics services (LSPs), which puts a damper on environmentally sustainablelogistics performance. Organizations understand the potential of environmentallysustainable logistics performance management, but they seems unable to developeffective management processes and accurate environmentally sustainable logisticsmetrics. Abstract : It has been argued that for the management of complex issues such as sustainability, which transcend traditional policy sectors and require coordination between several different interests and actors, policymaking depends upon collaboration and integration processes between different sectors and tiers of government. The overall aim of this thesis is therefore to study how and why (or why not) policy integration processes are being developed in regional policymaking and what this means for the achievement of sustainable transport.
