  3. 3. Resonant switching and vortex dynamics in spin-flop bi-layers

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Sergiy Cherepov; Vladislav Korenivski; Thomas Silva; [2010]

    Abstract : This thesis is a study of the static and dynamic behavior of the magne-tization in spin-flop bi-layers, which consist of two soft ferromagnetic layerscoupled by dipolar forces through a thin nonmagnetic spacer. The focus ofthe work is three fold: collective spin dynamics in the anti-parallel groundstate; resonant switching in the presence of thermal agitation; and static anddynamic behavior of the system in the vortex-pair state, with a particularemphasis on the interlayer core-core interaction. 4. 4. Rainflow Analysis of Switching Markov Loads

    University dissertation from Mathematical Statistics, Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Lund University

    Author : Pär Johannesson; [1999]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; actuarial mathematics; programming; operations research; Statistics; rainflow matrix; fatigue; vehicle load; hidden Markov model; random load; Markov model; Switching process; Statistik; operationsanalys; programmering; aktuariematematik;

    Abstract : Rainflow cycles are often used in fatigue analysis of materials for describing the variability of applied loads. Therefore, an important characteristic of a random load process is the intensity of rainflow cycles, also called the expected rainflow matrix (RFM), which can be used for evaluation of the fatigue life.
