1. Analysis of the phase space, asymptotic behavior and stability for heavy symmetric top and tippe top
Abstract : In this thesis we analyze the phase of the heavy symmetric top and the tippe top. These tops are two examples of physical systems for which the usefulness of integrals of motion and invariant manifolds, in phase space picture analysis, can be illustratedIn the case of the heavy symmetric top, simplified proofs of stability of the vertical rotation have been perpetuated by successive textbooks during the last century. 2. Study of equations for Tippe Top and related rigid bodies
Abstract : The Tippe Top consist of a small truncated sphere with a peg as a handle. When it is spun fast enough on its spherical part it starts to turn upside down and ends up spinning on the peg. READ MORE

3. Non-Linear Optical Titanyl Arsenates Crystal Growth and Properties
Abstract : Crystals are appreciated not only for their appearance, but also for their unique physical properties which are utilized by the photonic industry in appliances that we come across every day. An important part of enabling the technical use of optical devices is the manufacture of crystals. READ MORE

4. Electron transport properties of graphene and graphene field-effect devices studied experimentally
Abstract : This thesis contains experimental studies on electronic transport properties of graphene with the Aharonov-Bohm (AB) effect, thermopower (TEP) measurements, dual-gated graphene field effect devices, and quantum Hall effect (QHE). Firstly, in an effort to enhance the AB effect in graphene, we place superconducting-metal (aluminium) or normal-metal (gold) mirrors on the graphene rings. READ MORE

5. Analysis and Implementation of Preconditioners for Prestressed Elasticity Problems : Advances and Enhancements
Abstract : In this work, prestressed elasticity problem as a model of the so-called glacial isostatic adjustment (GIA) process is studied. The model problem is described by a set of partial differential equations (PDE) and discretized with a mixed finite element (FE) formulation. READ MORE
