    Abstract : This work focuses on the design, synthesis, characterization, and application projections of low-coordinated heavy pnictogen-containing (described by the generic letter E, hence E=C) phosphaalkenes (P=C) and arsaalkenes (As=C), with emphasis on the E=C group motifs. The work aims to understand their functional and modular character, reactivity, and potential applications by stabilizing, isolating, and characterizing these species in low-coordination environments. 3. 3. Homogeneous and heterogeneous Cp*Ir(III) catalytic systems : Mechanistic studies of redox processes catalyzed by bifunctional iridium complexes, and synthesis of iridium-functionalized MOFs

    Author : Greco González Miera; Belén Martín-Matute; Matt Clarke; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; catalysis; bifunctional; metal-ligand cooperation; amine alkylation; Hammett; kinetics; acceptorless alcohol dehydrogenation; MOF; transition metal; synchrotron; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : The purpose of this doctoral thesis is to investigate and develop catalytic processes mediated by iridium(III) complexes. By understanding the mechanisms, the weaknesses of the designed catalysts can be identified and be overcome in the following generation. READ MORE

  4. 4. Structure-Property Relationships of Iron N-Heterocyclic Carbene Complexes : Synthesis, Characterization and Application

    Author : Valtýr Freyr Hlynsson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; photoredox catalysis; photovoltaics; photosensitizer; N-heterocyclic carbene NHC ; BHAS; synthesis; Organometallic chemistry; structure-property relationship; coordination chemistry; heteroleptic iron complexes; geometry; photophysics;

    Abstract : Resulting from the general availability of first-row transition metals, compared to their second- and third-row counterparts, photosensitizers (PSs) based on metals like iron have gained interest as candidates to enable photochemistry from solar energy, a largely underutilized energy source. Iron complexes equivalent to other metal complexes, currently being used as PS, do lack some of the advantageous properties required to challenge the established PSs. READ MORE
