  1. 1. Liquid scintillators as neutron diagnostic tools for fusion plasmas : System characterization and data analysis

    Author : Federico Binda; Göran Ericsson; Michael Loughlin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The neutrons produced in fusion devices carry information about various properties of the ions that are reacting in the machine. Measurements of the neutron flux and energy distribution can therefore be used to study the behaviour of the plasma ions under different experimental conditions. READ MORE

  2. 2. Concurrency Bugs : Characterization, Debugging and Runtime Verification

    Author : Sara Abbaspour Asadollah; Hans Hansson; Tao Yue; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Concurrent software has been increasingly adopted in recent years, mainly due to the introduction of multicore platforms. However, concurrency bugs are still difficult to test and debug due to their complex interactions involving multiple threads (or tasks). Typically, real world concurrent software has huge state spaces. READ MORE

  3. 3. Acoustic Characterization of Turbochargers and Pipe Terminations

    Author : Heiki Tiikoja; Mats Åbom; Francisco Denia; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; acoustical two-port; turbocharger; transmission loss; sound generation; compressor; turbine; IC-engine; inlet system; exhaust system; flow duct; duct termination; reflection coefficient;

    Abstract : In search for quieter engines there is a need for a better understanding of the acoustic properties of engine intake and exhaust system components. Besides mufflers which have the purpose of reducing pressure pulses originating from the internal combustion (IC) engine, there are many components in a modern car exhaust and intake system, e.g. READ MORE

  4. 4. Metastable YAlN and ScAlN thin films : growth and characterization

    Author : Agnė Žukauskaitė; Lars Hultman; Jens Birch; Anita Lloyd Spetz; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : ScxAl1-xN and YxAl1-xN thin films were deposited in a ultra high vacuum system using reactive magnetron co-sputtering from elemental Al, Sc and Y targets in Ar/N2. Their mechanical, electrical, optical, and piezoelectrical properties were investigated with the help of transmission electron microscopy, xray diffraction, ellipsometry, I-V and C-V measurements, and two different techniques for piezoelectric characterization: piezoresponse force microscopy and double beam interferometry. 5. 5. Nonlinear materials for optical power limiting : characterization and modelling

    Author : Hampus Lundén; Mikael Lindgren; Cesar Lopes; Bernd Eberle; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : High power laser pulses can be a threat to optical sensors, including the human eye. Traditionally this threat has been alleviated by colour filters that block radiation in chosen wavelength ranges. READ MORE
