  1. 11. Simulation and Experimental Methods for Characterization of Nonlinear Mechanical Systems

    Author : Martin Magnevall; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; nonlinear structural dynamics; simulation; system characterization; experimental techniques; experimental methods;

    Abstract : Trial and error and the use of highly time-consuming methods are often necessary for investigation and characterization of nonlinear systems. However, for the rather common case where a nonlinear system has linear relations between many of its degrees of freedom there are opportunities for more efficient approaches. READ MORE

  2. 12. Atmospheric corrosion of Mg and MgAl alloys – characterization and mechanisms

    Author : Mehrdad Shahabi Navid; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; EDX; CO2; XPS; Mg and MgAl alloys; NaCl; Atmospheric corrosion; Characterization; 3D imaging; SEM; BIB; Thin film; FTIR; XRD; Pitting; Interference microscopy; FIB;

    Abstract : The atmospheric corrosion of Mg and MgAl alloys was investigated. Corrosion tests were performed in the laboratory under controlled environment. CP Mg, AM50 and AZ91 samples were exposed at 95% RH and 22°C in the presence and in the absence of 400 ppm CO2 for 24 h to 672 h. The passive film was characterized by means of XPS, FTIR, AES and XRD. READ MORE

  3. 13. Supporting Production System Design Decisions through Discrete Event Simulation

    Author : Erik Flores-García; Magnus Wiktorsson; Björn Johansson; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Innovation and Design; innovation och design;

    Abstract : Manufacturing companies are increasingly required to deal with and introduce significant changes in their production systems to gain a competitive advantage. The production system design process is widely considered a means of introducing such changes, and decisions made during design are viewed as critical to its characterization and performance. 4. 14. Water oxidation : From Molecular Systems to Functional Devices

    Author : Quentin Daniel; Licheng Sun; Marc Robert; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Water oxidation; Renewable energy; Electrochemistry; EPR; Devices; Molecular system; Characterization; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : The production of hydrogen gas, through the process of water splitting,is one of the most promising concepts for the production of clean andrenewable fuel.The introduction of this thesis provides a brief overview of fossil fuelsand the need for an energy transition towards clean and renewable energy. 5. 15. Characterization of Shared Resource Contention in Multi-core Systems

    Author : Jakob Danielsson; Mikael Sjödin; Stefano Di Carlo; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Multi-core computers are infamous for being hard to use in time-critical systems due to execution-time variations as an effect of shared resource contention. In this thesis we study the problem of shared resource contention which occurs when multiple applications executing on different cores do not have exclusive ownership of a shared resource. READ MORE
