  1. 21. Electron-Lattice Dynamics in pi-Conjugated Systems

    Author : Magnus Hultell (Andersson); Sven Stafström; Alexander Onipko; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polaron dynamics; Exciton dynamics; pi-conjugated systems; Su-Schrieffer-Heeger SSH model; Adiabaticity; Charge carrier transport; Organic electronics.; Computational physics; Beräkningsfysik;

    Abstract : In this thesis we explore in particular the dynamics of a special type of quasi-particle in pi-conjugated materials termed polaron, the origin of which is intimately related to the strong interactions between the electronic and the vibrational degrees of freedom within these systems. In order to conduct such studies with the particular focus of each appended paper, we simultaneously solve the time-dependent Schrödinger equation and the lattice equation of motion with a three-dimensional extension of the famous Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) model Hamiltonian. 2. 22. The Global Fashion System : On its social-ecological intertwinedness

    Author : Celinda Palm; Sarah E. Cornell; Tiina Häyhä; Fredrik Moberg; Kate Fletcher; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Sustainability; Fashion; Social-ecological system; Transdisciplinarity; Critical realism; Positionality; Hållbarhet; Mode; Social-ekologiska system; Tvärvetenskap; Kritisk realism; Positionalitet; vetenskap om hållbar utveckling; Sustainability Science;

    Abstract : The fashion industry contributes to shaping the state of the planet: impacts of production and consumption of textile fast-fashion are rising, and the growing number of sustainability-oriented actions have not slowed current trends. The industry’s (un)sustainability is mainly researched within two epistemic communities: fashion studies concerned with social sustainability, and circular economy focused on material biophysical and technological aspects of material cycles along the value chain. 3. 23. Carbody and Passengers in Rail Vehicle Dynamics

    Author : Pelle Carlbom; KTH; []
    Keywords : Rail-Vehicle Dynamics; Human-Body Dynamics; Ride Comfort; Structural Dynamics;

    Abstract : The carbody plays an important role in rail vehicle dynamics.This thesis aims atdeveloping validated modelling methods tostudy its dynamics, how it is excited on trackand how itinteracts with the passengers. The primary interest is ridecomfort,considering vibrations up to 20 Hz. READ MORE

  4. 24. Gene Regulatory Networks: Dynamics and Stability

    Author : Carl Troein; Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; systems; control; Datalogi; numerisk analys; system; kontroll; Computer science; numerical analysis; Fysik; biomathematics biometrics; Bioinformatik; medicinsk informatik; biomatematik; Physics; medical informatics; transcriptional regulation; gene regulatory networks; Bioinformatics; signaling pathway profiling; stem cell regulation; metabolic pathway; fitness; nested canalyzing rules; Kauffman networks; random Boolean networks; Fysicumarkivet:2007:Troein;

    Abstract : Life as we know it is based on cells that use proteins and RNA to carry out metabolism, self-replication, and other essential tasks. The genes that code for these molecules are encoded in DNA, and through the processes of transcription and translation the cell expresses its genes. READ MORE

  5. 25. Analysis of manufacturing supply chains using system dynamics and multi-objective optimization

    Author : Tehseen Aslam; Amos H. C. Ng; Daniel Tesfamariam Semere; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Supply Chain Management; System Dynamics; Multi-Objective Optimization; Technology; Teknik;

    Abstract : Supply chains are in general complex networks composed of autonomous entities whereby multiple performance measures in different levels, which in most cases are in conflict with each other, have to be taken into account. Hence, due to the multiple performance measures, supply chain decision making is much more complex than treating it as a single objective optimization problem. READ MORE
