  1. 1. Morphological and Molecular Phylogenetic Studies in Neotropical Gentianaceae

    Author : Lena Struwe; Pamela S Soltis; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; systematisk botanik; Systematic Botany;

    Abstract : The Gentianaceae of the Neotropics are a diverse taxonomic group representing several evolutionary lineages. The phylogenetic relationships of neotropical gentians are discussed based on cladistic analyses of morphological, trnL intron, and ITS 1 sequence data. READ MORE

  2. 2. Phylogeny and biogeography of Gunnera

    Author : Livia Wanntorp; Lennart Andersson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Växter; fylogeni; Tvåhjärtbladiga; Magnoliopsida; systematisk botanik; Systematic Botany;

    Abstract : The angiosperm genus Gunnera consists of 30-40 species mainly distributed in Africa, New Zealand, Tasmania, South America, the Malay Archipelago and Hawaii. Because of its distribution in almost all parts of the Southern Hemisphere and to its 90 millions year's history on Earth, Gunnera is especially interesting for its biogeography. READ MORE

  3. 3. Evolution of Lycopodiaceae (Lycopsida) : Relationships and Patterns of Diversification

    Author : Niklas Wikström; Anders Tehler; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; systematisk botanik; Systematic Botany;

    Abstract : A series of phylogenetic analyses using nucleotide sequence data resolves many aspects of the relationships in a group of land plants that until now have received comparatively little attention, the homosporous lycopsids or Lycopodiaceae. Although the group has evolved as an isolated lineage ever since the Late Devonian (more than 470 Myr ago), little is known about how modern species diversity relate to this ancient history. 4. 4. Desert Plants and Deserted Islands : Systematics and Ethnobotany in Caryophyllaceae

    Author : Anneleen Kool; Mats Thulin; Gudrun Kadereit; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : Background. Caryophyllaceae is a large and cosmopolitic flowering plant family, however the systematics of many of its basal groups has been unclear, due to a lack of unambiguous morphology. Some members of Caryophyllaceae are used medicinally, e.g. READ MORE

    Abstract : Selaginellaceae, spikemosses, is a heterosporous plant family belonging to the lycophytes. With an estimated age of some 350 million years, the family is historically important as one of the oldest known groups of vascular plants. Selaginellaceae is herbaceous with a worldwide distribution. However, the majority of the ca. READ MORE
