1. Derivation and application of response functions for nonlinear absorption and dichroisms
Abstract : This thesis is titled ’Derivation and application of response functions for nonlinear absorption and dichroisms’ and was written by Tobias Fahleson at the Division of Theoretical Chemistry & Biology at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. It explores and expands upon theoretical means of quantifying a number of nonlinear spectroscopies, including two-photon absorption, resonant inelastic x-ray scattering, Jones birefringence, and magnetic circular dichroism. 2. Vascular mechanisms in dementia with special reference to folate and fibrinolysis
Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to study the biomarker homocysteine and other novel potential vascular risk factors for dementia. In an out-patient based study of a cohort of 926 consecutive subjects referred to our Memory Unit during 1996―2000, serum-folate was lower and total plasma homocysteine (tHcy) and serum methyl malonate were higher in subjects being prescribed with B12. 3. Synchrotron Radiation Studies of Molecular Building Blocks for Functional Materials
Abstract : The research on new materials is a primary driving force for progress in human society. One of the most significant research topic nowadays is the development of new functional materials for technological applications, like perovskite implemented in solar cells, and graphene as a representative for the new 2D materials family. 4. Experimental therapies of malignant glioma : with emphasis on angiogenesis inhibition
Abstract : Malignant glioma consists of a group of diseases where the localisation and the nature of the disease makes treatment an extreme challenge. Two important biological features of malignant glioma cells are their infiltrative growth and their ability to induce angiogenesis. READ MORE

5. The effects of plasminogen deficiency on the healing of tympanic membrane perforations
Abstract : The healing of tympanic membrane (TM) perforations is a complex wound healing process including inflammation, migration of keratinocytes and tissue remodelling. Most TM perforations in human heal spontaneously, however some perforations become chronic, and the reason to why is still largely unknown. READ MORE
