  1. 6. Material and technique development for ultrasound optical tomography using spectral hole burning filters

    Author : Alexander Bengtsson; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biomedical imaging; ultrasound optical tomography; acousto-optical tomography; rare-earth-ion doped crystals; spectral holeburning; slow light filters; Tm 3:LaF3; Fysicumarkivet A:2022:Bengtsson;

    Abstract : The molecular sensitivity provided by optical photons has potential advantages in medical diagnostics, for example, in distinguishing healthy from cancerous tissue. However, scattering resulting from inhomogeneities in the refractive index of tissues prevents spatially resolved optical measurements in biological material, except at very shallow depths. 2. 7. High-resolution measurement of the ¹⁶O(γ,pn) reaction

    Author : Lennart Isaksson; Lunds universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; pn ; E_gamma = 67-76 MeV; resolved states; cross-sections; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Fysicumarkivet A:1996:Isaksson; 16O gamma; Photonuclear reaction;

    Abstract : The 16O(gamma,pn) reaction has been measured with a resolution high enough to resolve individual low-lying states in the residual 14N nucleus. The relative population of the states provides detailed information about the quantum numbers of the proton-neutron pairs on which photons are absorbed. READ MORE

  3. 8. The PANDA electromagnetic calorimeter at photon energies below 100 MeV

    Author : Dirk Wölbing; Per-Erik Tegnér; Thomas Nilsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PANDA; vacuum photo tetrodes; electromagnetic calorimeter; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : The PANDA  experiment (antiproton annihilation at Darmstadt) is designed for studies of the strong force in the transition region between perturbative and non-perturbative quantum chromo dynamics (QCD). It will be built and placed at the high-energy storage ring, HESR, at FAIR (Facility for antiproton and ion research) in Darmstadt and start its first experiments in 2025. READ MORE
