  1. 1. Anatomy and taxonomy of cetrarioid lichens

    University dissertation from Systematic Botany

    Author : Arne Thell; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [1996]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; taxonomi; chemotaxonomy. Physiology of nonvascular plants; phytogeography; morphology; taxonomy; Systematic botany; pycnoconidia; ascus structures; anatomy; Systematisk botanik; cetrarioid lichens; Ascomycotina; Parmeliaceae; morfologi; kemotaxonomi. Växters fysiologi inte kärlväxter .;

    Abstract : The anatomy of the cetrarioid lichens (Parmeliaceae) has been studied, and the taxonomy revised. Special attention has been paid to reproductive structures, in particular the asci and pycnoconidia. Two types of asci are recognized. The Cetraria type is narrowly clavate, bears an amyloid ring structure in the tholus, and has a small axial body. READ MORE

  2. 2. Effects of increased UV-B radiation on the lichen Cladonia arbuscula spp. mitis: UV-absorbing pigments and DNA damage

    University dissertation from Department of Cell and Organism Biology, Lund University

    Author : Roberta Buffoni Hall; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2002]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Systematic botany; taxonomy; morphology; phytogeography; chemotaxonomy. Physiology of nonvascular plants; kemotaxonomi. Växters fysiologi inte kärlväxter .; Systematisk botanik; taxonomi; morfologi;

    Abstract : Lichens, a form of symbiosis between a fungal and a photosynthetic partner, are believed to be a group that evolved early in the history of terrestrial life. As a consequence, they probably experienced higher ultraviolet (UV) radiation fluxes than at present. READ MORE

    University dissertation from Systematic Botany

    Author : Stefan Ekman; [1996]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Systematisk botanik; chemotaxonomy. Physiology of nonvascular plants; Systematic botany; taxonomy; morphology; Toniniopsis; Psorella; Ophioparma; Ropalospora; Pachyphiale; Lecania; Herteliana; Fellhanera; Byssoloma; conidia; pigments; phytogeography; ecology; North America; lichens; Lecanorales; Bacidia; Bacidina; morfologi; taxonomi; kemotaxonomi; Växters fysiologi inte kärlväxter .;

    Abstract : This is a taxonomic revision of the corticolous and lignicolous taxa of the genera Bacidia and Bacidina (Lecanoraceae, Lecanorales, lichenized Ascomycotina) in the continental United States and Canada. Twenty-seven species of Bacidia (one of which is divided into two subspecies) and twelve species of Bacidina are recognized. READ MORE

Växters fysiologi inte kärlväxter .;

    Abstract : Large-scale patterns of genetic variation in chloroplast (cp) and nuclear DNA in the widespread European herb species Silene latifolia and S. dioica were investigated using cpPCR-RFLPs, non-coding cpDNA sequences, AFLPs and sequences of the internal transcribed spacers (ITS) of nuclear ribosomal DNA (rDNA). Växters fysiologi inte kärlväxter .;

    Abstract : In the present thesis the phylogeny and patterns of genetic diversity of the plant genus Alisma (Alismataceae) were investigated by means of genetic markers (RAPDs, allozymes, and ITS and trnL sequences). Additionally, morphological studies were carried out in paper IV. READ MORE
