  1. 1. Tectonic Evolution of Taimyr in the Late Paleozoic to Mesozoic from Provenance and Thermochronological Evidence

    Author : Xiaojing Zhang; Victoria Pease; Arild Andresen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Taimyr; sandstones; provenance; heavy mineral analysis; detrital zircon; apatite fission track; tectonic setting; uplift; Geology; geologi;

    Abstract : The Taimyr Peninsula is a key element in the circum-Arctic region and represents thenorthern margin of the Siberian Craton. The Taimyr Peninsula is a late Paleozoic fold andthrust belt and preserves late Paleozoic through Mesozoic siliciclastic sedimentarysuccessions and providing an ideal location to investigate the Paleozoic to Mesozoictectonic evolution associated with the Uralian orogeny, the Siberian Trap magmatism andopening of Amerasia Basin within a circum-Arctic framework. 2. 2. Tectonic setting and metallogeny of the Kiruna greenstones

    Author : Olof Martinsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : The Paleoproterozoic Kiruna Greenstones belong to a large c. 2.1 Ga tholeiitic province in the north-eastern part of the Baltic Shield. The mainly basaltic volcanism was related to an event of continental rifting, which ended up with continental rupture. READ MORE

  3. 3. The tectonic evolution of northwest Svalbard

    Author : Carl Henrik Pettersson; Victoria Pease; Robert Strachan; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Svalbard; Rodinia; Laurentia; Zircon; Provenance; Migmatites; Clockwise P-T; Solid earth geology and petrology; Berggrundsgeologi och petrologi; Geology; geologi;

    Abstract : Svalbard represents the uplifted and exhumed northwest corner of the Barents Sea Shelf. Pre-Carboniferous rocks of Svalbard are divided into the Eastern, Northwestern and Southwestern Terranes, were amalgamated during the Caledonian Orogen and are separated by north-south-trending strike-slip faults. 4. 4. Genesis and tectonic setting of the hypozonal Fäboliden orogenic gold deposit, northern Sweden

    Author : Glenn Bark; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ore Geology; Malmgeologi;

    Abstract : The well-known Skellefte Ore District, northern Sweden, hosts a large number of massive sulphide deposits, a few porphyry-type-deposits and a number of gold deposits in different geological settings. Southwest of this district a new ore province, the so called Gold Line, is presently being uncovered. READ MORE

  5. 5. The crustal architecture of the central Skellefte district, Sweden : Structural analysis, setting of VMS deposits and 3D-modelling

    Author : Tobias E. Bauer; Allan Gibbs; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : The Skellefte district in northern Sweden is a Palaeoproterozoic volcanic arc hosting abundant volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits. The dominating rocks in the district are submarine volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks of the Skellefte Group deposited in an extensional regime at 1.89–1.88 Ga. READ MORE
