  1. 21. Svecofennian volcanism in northernmost Sweden

    Author : Jan-Anders Perdahl; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Abstract : Volcanism and volcanic processes are important factors for ore formation. The environment of the volcanism plays an important role for which type of ore that will be formed. READ MORE

  2. 22. Timing and Origin of Igneous Rocks in the Gällivare area, Northern Sweden

    Author : Zimer Sarlus; Christina Wanhainen; Sabina Strmic Palinkas; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ore Geology; Malmgeologi;

    Abstract : The Gällivare area is one of Europe’s top mining regions. The area is located in the northern Norrbotten ore district which hosts ore deposits such as the Malmberget underground iron ore mine, the Aitik open pit Cu-Au mine and the currently explored Nautanen Cu-Au deposit. In addition, several small, mineralized bodies are found. READ MORE

  3. 23. Precambrian Crustal Evolution of the Rehoboth Province, Southern Africa

    Author : Valby van Schijndel; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Rehoboth Province; Rehoboth Basement Inlier; Kaaien Terrane; Dwyka Diamictite; U–Pb; Sm–Nd; Lu–Hf; Ar–Ar Geochronology; Oxygen isotopes; Zircon; Baddeleyite;

    Abstract : This thesis uses U-Pb, Sm-Nd Lu-Hf, Ar-Ar and Oxygen isotope data on well-documented rock samples, to investigate crustal evolution of the Precambrian Rehoboth Province of Southern Africa. This province is defined by its smooth magnetic character, reflecting deep magnetic basement in contrast to the adjoining mobile belts and the Kaapvaal Craton. READ MORE

  4. 24. Vaikijaur, a palaeoproteroic Cu-Au porphyry style mineralization in the Jokkmokk granitoid at the archaean-proterozoic boundary in northern Sweden

    Author : Christina Lundmark; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : The Jokkmokk granitoid is exposed in a plutonic massif northwest of Jokkmokk in northern Norrbotten. It is light grey to white, fine-grained, with megacrysts of feldspar and glomeroporphyritic hornblende and biotite. Small enclaves of mafic rocks and synplutonic mafic dykes are products of mingling with a coeval and possibly cogenetic mafic magma. READ MORE

  5. 25. Fissure-hosted mineral formation and metallogenesis in the Långban Fe-Mn-(Ba-As-Pb-Sb...) deposit, Bergslagen, Sweden

    Author : Erik Jonsson; Ulf Hålenius; Tom Andersen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mineralogi; geologi; isotopgeokemi; mineraldiversitet; malmbildning; Palaeoproterozoikum; Bergslagen; Sverige; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap;

    Abstract : The Långban deposit in the Bergslagen ore province is one of the most mineral-rich and complex localities on Earth. Yet, despite more than 100 years of research, much about its origin and evolution has remained unknown. READ MORE
