  1. 21. Evolving Industrial Networks : Data-Driven Network Traffic Modelling and Monitoring

    Author : Mehrzad Lavassani; Johan Åkerberg; Mats Björkman; Per Hurtig; Mälardalens universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : The concept of Industrial IoT encompasses the joint applicability of operation and information technologies to expand the efficiency expectation of automation to green and flexible processes with innovative products and services. Future industrial networks need to accommodate, manage and guarantee the performance of converged traffic from different technologies. READ MORE

  2. 22. Stopover Ecology of Mallards : Where, when and how to do what?

    Author : Daniel Bengtsson; Jonas Waldenström; W. Michael Eichholtz; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Age characters; body condition; departure decision; effects of influenza A virus; habitat selection; mallard; movement; Ottenby Bird Observatory; stopover ecology; weather; wild birds; Ecology; Ekologi;

    Abstract : The mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) is the most numerous and widespread duck in the northern hemisphere and a model species in ecology and harvest management. Migration is a crucial life stage for many birds and understanding the drivers of migration has important implications for conservation biology and assessment of animal population responses to global changes. 3. 23. Traffic Management in Software-Defined Data Center Networks

    Author : Cristian Hernandez Benet; Andreas Kassler; Boris Koldehofe; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SDN; data center; load-balancing; traffic management; EVPN; big data; programmable data plane; Computer Science; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Traffic management in data centers is paramount to improving network and application performance, thereby improving the quality of service by reducing network congestion, packet loss, and latency. However, the deployment and configuration of traffic management techniques are challenging due to diverse data-center traffic characteristics, large data center topologies, and the interplay of different protocols at the routing, transport, and link layer. 4. 24. Flight Behaviour of Passerines on Nocturnal Migration

    Author : Cecilia Nilsson; Evolutionär ekologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bird migration; Passerines; Flight Behaviour; Tracking radar; Optimal migration; Flight speed; Airspeed; Wind drift; Nocturnal migration; Coastline effects; Flight directions; Reverse migration;

    Abstract : Many passerines migrate during the night and at high altitudes, making their migration difficult to observe. By using tracking radars we have been able to make exact observations of the flight behaviour of passerines on nocturnal migration, which has enabled us to test several hypotheses about adaptive values and constraints regarding migratory behaviour in different ecological contexts. 5. 25. The use of highway crossings to maintain landscape connectivity for moose and roe deer

    Author : Mattias Olsson; Per Widén; Anthony Clevenger; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; wildlife crossings; Barrier effect; habitat selection; ecoduct; moose; roe deer; connectivity; conservation; overpass; underpass; highway; exclusion fencing; Biology; Biologi; Biology; Biologi;

    Abstract : Increasingly wildlife managers and land managers are challenged to maintain the viability and connectivity among large mammal populations. Thus, it is important that effective highway crossings are identified and optimized with respect to construction cost, facilitation of ungulate movements, and ability to reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions.
