1. Determination of the thermal conductivity of the insulation in district heating mains : Field measurements
Abstract : This thesis concerns the development of a measurement method for determination in the field of the thermal conductivity of the insulation in buried district heating mains. The thermal conductivity of the insulation is calculated from the measured value of the radial heat flow through the heating main, the measured temperature difference across the insulation, and the dimensions of the heating main. 2. Non-Perturbative Quantum Field Theory in Extreme Environments
Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to describe some physical systems which can be treated by non-perturbative methods in quantum field theory. In the thesis we study systems described by quadratic Hamiltonians, possibly extended with an external electromagnetic field and/or with a thermal heat bath. READ MORE

3. Compartment Fire Temperature Calculations and Measurements
Abstract : This thesis is devoted to heat transfer and fire dynamics in enclosures. It consists of a main part which summarizes and discusses the theory of heat transfer, conservation of energy, fire dynamics and specific fire scenarios that have been studied. READ MORE

4. The Physical Environment and Occupant Thermal Perceptions in Office Buildings An Evaluation of Sampled Data from Five European Countries
Abstract : The results from a large field study of thermal comfort in European office buildings are reported. Measurements of physical environmental conditions and occupant perceptions were collected over sixteen months from twenty-six different office buildings located in France, Greece, Portugal, Sweden and the UK. 5. Visualization of Air Flow, Temperature and Concentration Indoors : Whole-field measuring methods and CFD
Abstract : The thermal indoor climate is a complicated combination of a number of physical variables, all of which strongly affect people’s well-being. The indoor climate not only heavily affects people’s health and life quality, but also their productivity and ability to work efficiently. READ MORE
