    Abstract : Luftburna partiklar (PM) är ett problem för människans hälsa, där flertalet samband mellan negativa hälsoeffekter finns mellan luftföroreningar finns, bland annat för respiratoriska sjukdomar, lungcancer och kardiovaskulära sjukdomar med flera. I länder där dubbdäck används, till exempel Sverige, Finland och Norge, och sandning av vägar och gator genomförs vintertid för att säkerställa god friktion kommer en betydande andel av partiklarna från vägslitage och nedkrossning av sand vilket bidrar till PM10. 2. 2. Marine Current Resource Assessment : Measurements and Characterization

    Author : Nicole Carpman; Karin Thomas; Mats Leijon; Sandra Eriksson; Mairead Atcheson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ADCP; Engineering Science with specialization in Science of Electricity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektricitetslära;

    Abstract : The increasing interest in converting energy from renewable resources into electricity has led to an increase in research covering the field of marine current energy, mainly concerning tidal currents and in-stream tidal turbines. Tides have the advantage of being predictable decades ahead. READ MORE

  3. 3. Freshwater methane and carbon dioxide fluxes : Spatio-temporal variability and an integrated assessment of lake and stream emissions in a catchment

    Author : Sivakiruthika Natchimuthu; David Bastviken; Åsa Danielsson; Peter A. Raymond; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Lakes; streams; spatio-temporal variability; CH4 flux; CO2 flux; gas transfer velocity; Sjöar; vattendrag; rumsliga och tidsmässiga variationer; CH4-flöden; CO2-flöden; gasutbyteshastighet;

    Abstract : Freshwater bodies such as lakes and streams release the greenhouse gases methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere. Global freshwater CH4 and CO2 emissions have been estimated to be of a similar magnitude to the global land or ocean carbon sink, and are thus significant components of global carbon budgets. 4. 4. Seasonal variation and landscape regulation of dissolved organic carbon concentrations and character in Swedish boreal streams

    Author : Anneli Ågren; Mats Jansson; Irena Creed; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; DOC; temporal variation; spatial variation; seasonal variation; forested catchment; wetland catchment; catchment characteristics; DOC characteristics; absorbance-ratio; bioavailability.; Physical geography; Naturgeografi;

    Abstract : The seasonal variation and landscape regulation of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) concentrations in streams have been studied in two watersheds in the boreal zone. The seasonal variation was found to be highly correlated to variations in runoff. An increase in runoff was always accompanied with an increase in DOC concentration. READ MORE

  5. 5. Hydrogeochemistry and spatial variability of arsenic and other trace elements in the Lower Katari Basin around Lake Titicaca, Bolivian Altiplano. : Impact on drinking water quality and groundwater management

    Author : Israel Quino Lima; Prosun Bhattacharya; Jerker Jarsjö; KTH; []

    Abstract : Arsenic (As) contamination in drinking water is a world-wide problem. Thenatural origin of As, its mobility and transport are of great interest in BolivianAltiplano (Lower Katari Basin: LKB and Sothern Poopó Basin: SPB) due topresence of mineral ore deposits, brines, hot springs and volcanic rocks.
