16. Developing Computational Tools for Modern Aeroacoustic Research
Abstract : The thesis presents the author s research on numerical methods for Com-putational Aeroacoustics and the development of computational tools with direct applicability in industry. The designers in the gas-turbine industry, require accurate methods for predicting the onset and the frequencies of dangerous (pressure) oscillations, like the ones which typically occur in Lean Premixed Pre-vaporized (LPP) combustors. 17. Meson Properties in Partially Quenched Effective Field Theory
Abstract : Mass corrections and decay constants for light mesons have been calculated in Partially Quenched Chiral Perturbation Theory. The calculations of the charged meson masses have been performed to third order, first for degenerate quark masses, and then, in a second project, for the general case. READ MORE

18. Pion and Kaon Dynamics at Higher Orders in Chiral Perturbation Theory
Abstract : Higher orders calculations of processes involving the pion and kaon pseudo-scalar mesons are presented in the framework of three flavour Chiral Perturbation Theory. The purpose is two-fold. First determining the low energy constants of ChPT that are necessary for higher accuracy predictions. READ MORE

19. Profitability = f(G) : Computational Thermodynamics, Materials Design and Process Optimization
Abstract : The thesis starts by giving a motivation to materials modeling as a way to increase profitability but also a possibility decrease the environmental impact. Fundamental concepts of relevance for this work are introduced, this include the materials genome, ICME and of course the CALPHAD method. READ MORE

20. Studies of Gas Turbines Combustion Chambers: Use of New Fuels and Development of New Tools
Abstract : The growing world electricity demand and environmental concerns pushes toward new technology for electricity production. Within the thermal processes for electricity production, two axis of research are being developed to meet the needs of the industry, namely using renewable fuels and new generation burners technology.
