  1. 1. Mechanistic-Empirical Modelling of Flexible Pavement Performance : Verifications Using APT Measurements

    Author : Abubeker W. Ahmed; Sigurdur Erlingsson; Hervè Di Benedetto; Statens väg- och transportforskningsinstitut; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Performance; Deformation; Model not math ; Rutting wheel ; Viscoelasticity; Elasticity; Axle load; Flexible pavement; Laboratory not an organization ; Test; Thesis; Heavy vehicle simulator; Wheel tracking test; 32 Road: Pavement design; 32 Road: Pavement design; Transportvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Abstract : Mechanistic-Empirical  (M-E)  pavement  design  procedures  are  composed  of  a  reliable  response model to estimate the state of stress in the pavement and distress models in order to predict the different types of pavement distresses due to the prevailing traffic and environmental conditions. One of the main objectives of this study was to develop a response model based on multilayer elastic  theory   (MLET)  with  improved  computational  performance  by   optimizing  the   time consuming parts of the MLET processes. 2. 2. Thermal response test : in situ measurements of thermal properties in hard rock

    Author : Signhild Gehlin; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vattenteknik; Water Resources Engineering;

    Abstract : In-situ determination of thermal properties in bedrock is important for the sizing of larger BTES systems. In-situ values of thermal conductivity may reduce required borehole length up to 30%. This thesis treats a new mobile thermal response test equipment (TED), developed in Luleå, Sweden, 1995-98. 3. 3. Understanding Test-Artifact Quality in Software Engineering

    Author : Huynh Khanh Vi Tran; Nauman bin Ali; Jürgen Börstler; Michael Unterkalmsteiner; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Software testing; Test case quality; Test suite quality; Test artifact quality; Quality assurance; Programvaruteknik; Software Engineering;

    Abstract : Context: The core of software testing is test artifacts, i.e., test cases, test suites, test scripts, test code, test specifications, and natural language tests. Hence, the quality of test artifacts can negatively or positively impact the reliability of the software testing process. READ MORE

  4. 4. Low Frequency Impact Sound in Timber Buildings : Simulations and Measurements

    Author : Jörgen Olsson; Andreas Linderholt; Leif Kari; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Low-frequency; impact sound; light weight floor; timber joist floor; tapping machine; multi-storey timber building; frequency response functions.; Stegljud; Byggteknik; Civil engineering;

    Abstract : An increased share of construction with timber is one possible way of achieving more sustainable and energy-efficient life cycles of buildings. The main reason is that wood is a renewable material and buildings require a large amount of resources. READ MORE

  5. 5. Precision mass measurements : Final limit of SMILETRAP I and the developments of SMILETRAP II

    Author : Andreas Solders; Reinhold Schuch; Juha Äystö; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SMILETRAP; Precision mass spectrometry; Penning trap; Atomic mass; Highly charged ions; Low energy ion storage; Time of flight ion cyclotron resonance; High frequency; Proton mass; QED; g-factor; Physics; Fysik; Physics; fysik;

    Abstract : The subject of this thesis is high-precision mass-measurements performed with Penning trap mass spectrometers (PTMS). In particular it describes the SMILETRAP I PTMS and the final results obtained with it, the masses of 40Ca and that of the proton. READ MORE
