    Abstract : This thesis aims at characterizing tridimensional (3D) printed polymers onto PET textile materials via fused deposition modeling (FDM) that uses both non-conductive and conductive polymers, optimizing their mechanical and electrical properties through statistical modeling and enhancing them with pre and post-treatments and the development of polymer blends. This research work supports the development of technical textiles through 3D printing that may have functionalities. READ MORE

  2. 12. Textile influence : exploring the role of textiles in the product design process

    Author : Linnéa Nilsson; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Textiles; fashion; Textiles and Fashion General ; Textil och mode generell ;

    Abstract : Textile materials and textile design are a part of countless products in our surroundings, as well as of diverse design fields and industries, with very different material traditions and working methods. Textile materials and industry have undergone many changes during recent decades, in terms of how and where textiles are produced, and what textiles can be and do; in much the same way, the design practices that textiles are involved in have also developed. 3. 13. Chemicals in textiles : A potential source for human exposure and environmental pollution

    Author : Giovanna Luongo; Conny Östman; Peter Haglund; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : The wide use of chemicals in textile production is common knowledge, whilst very little has been done to disclose the potentially harmful compounds hiding in our closet. The initial part of this work focused on explorative screening of textile materials in common clothing. READ MORE

  4. 14. Making Borders : Engaging the threat of Chinese textiles in Ghana

    Author : Linn Axelsson; Ilda Lindell; Bo Malmberg; John Allen; Giles Mohan; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; borders; political geography; smuggling; intellectual property; national dress; Ghana; textiles; China-in-Africa; Human Geography; kulturgeografi;

    Abstract : The borders of the twenty-first century come in many forms and are performed by an increasing number of actors in a broad variety of places, both within and beyond the territories of nation-states. This thesis sets out a detailed political geography of how borders operate to reconcile the often conflicting demands of open markets and security. READ MORE

  5. 15. On the elements of E-textiles : Fabrication and characterisation of textile routing and electrodes

    Author : Emanuel Gunnarsson; Fernando Seoane; Vladan Conkar; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Smart textiles; electronic textile; P-health; textile electrodes; Textil och mode generell ; Textiles and Fashion General ;

    Abstract : “Smart textile” as a notion was demarcated approximately 25 years ago, leading to an enthusiastic hype around the research. Both academic efforts and members of the maker community developed prototypes and artistic creations that incorporated smart features into textiles. READ MORE
