  1. 1. Impact of Diagenetic Alterations on Reservoir Quality and Heterogeneity of Paralic and Shallow Marine Sandstones : Links to Depositional Facies and Sequence Stratigraphy

    Author : Khalid Al-Ramadan; Sadoon Morad; Luiz Fernando De Ros; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Bedrock geology; Siliciclastic; Diagenesis; Sequence stratigraphy; Paralic and shallow marine; Heterogeneity; Reservoir quality; Berggrundsgeologi;

    Abstract : This thesis constrains the distribution of diagenetic alterations and their impact on reservoir-quality and heterogeneity evolution pathways in relation to depositional environments and sequence stratigraphy (systems tracts and key sequence stratigraphic surfaces) of four selected paralic and shallow marine siliciclastic successions. Typical eogenetic alterations encountered include the dissolution and kaolinitization of framework silicates, which are closely associated to shoreface facies of forced regressive systems tract (FRWST), lowstand systems tract (LST), upper part of the highstand systems tract (HST), and below the sequence boundary (SB). 2. 2. Multi-scale characterisation of pasta - Effects of raw materials on water absorption, water distribution, and microstructure

    Author : Thomas Steglich; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; magnetic resonance imaging; dietary fibre; texture properties; light microscopy; starch; water distribution; gluten; bran; pasta; microstructure;

    Abstract : Pasta is a product with a long history, but is also still being developed today. Producers want to use new raw materials to make pasta more nutritious, less allergenic, and less dependent on durum wheat. All have in common that new raw materials shall not compromise the desired texture properties of cooked pasta such as the “al dente” feeling. READ MORE

  3. 3. Reactive Sputter Deposition of Functional Thin Films

    Author : Lina Liljeholm; Jörgen Olsson; Ilia Katardjiev; Tomas Nyberg; Gonzalo Fuentes Iriarte; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thin film; reactive sputtering; coating; resonator; sensor; FBAR; SMR; aluminum nitride; Al; B N; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektronik; Engineering Science with specialization in Electronics;

    Abstract : Thin film technology is of great significance for a variety of products, such as electronics, anti-reflective or hard coatings, sensors, solar cells, etc. This thesis concerns the synthesis of thin functional films, reactive magnetron sputter deposition process as such and the physical and functional characterization of the thin films synthesized. 4. 4. AlN and High-k Thin Films for IC and Electroacoustic Applications

    Author : Fredrik Engelmark; Ivan Petrov; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electronics; Elektronik; Electronics; Elektronik; Elektronik; Electronics;

    Abstract : Further, a highly selective dry etch process for etching Al on AlN has been developed for the fabrication of MIM, MIS, SAW and BAW test structures for electrical and electroacoustic characterization of the films. A dielectric constant of 10 for AlN and 25 for Ti doped Ta2O5 have been measured. READ MORE

  5. 5. Al-based Thin Film Quasicrystals and Approximants

    Author : Simon Olsson; Fredrik Eriksson; Lars Hultman; Jensen Jens; Xiaodong Zou; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In this work, Al-based quasicrystalline and approximant phases have been synthesized in thin films using magnetron sputter deposition. Quasicrystals are structures having long-range order and rotational symmetries which are inconsistent with periodicity. READ MORE
