16. Analysis, Simulation and Cryogenic/Mechanical Design for ALMA Band 5 Cartridge
Abstract : This licentiate thesis describes the work conducted by the author during the development of the ALMA Band 5 cartridge. The ALMA project as an international collaboration between various continents consisting of 66 antennas in total with ten ALMA receivers that observes in the range from 31 GHz and 950 GHz. READ MORE

17. Thermal insulation of the combustion chamber in a light duty diesel engine
Abstract : Reduction of heat loss from the combustion chamber in an engine has great potential to decrease fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Research on thermal barrier coatings (TBC) has been performed since the early eighties to address this potential. READ MORE

18. Plasticity Driven Damage and Void Growth
Abstract : Plasticity induced damage evolution is considered using a thermodynamical approach. Different postulates on how to include the effects of damage in the constitutive equations have been studied. The results reveal that a mapping, similar to that of the stress, of both the kinematic and isotropic hardening variables is to be preferred. READ MORE

19. Rheocasting of Aluminium Alloys : Slurry Formation, Microstructure, and Properties
Abstract : Innovative materials with novel properties are in great demand for use in the criticalcomponents of emerging technologies, which promise to be more cost-effective and energyefficient.A controversial issue with regard to manufacturing complex industrial products isto develop advanced materials with optimised manufacturability in addition to the requiredmechanical and physical properties. 20. Coupled thermal, metallurgical and mechanical models of multipass welding
Abstract : This thesis deals with modelling and simulation of thermo mechanical processes in multipass welding. The aim of the simulations is to predict the residual stresses and/or the deformations that occur after welding. These residual stresses and deformations are caused by the high temperature gradients due to the local heating. READ MORE
