1. A Quantitative Thermogravimetric Study on the Nonevaporable Water in Mature Silica Fume Concrete: Influence of Carbonation and Moisture Conditions
Abstract : The primary goal of the project presented here was to study and quantify the influence of materials parameters (cement type, silica fume content, w/c ratio, type and dose of superplasticizers) and environmental parameters (carbonation and moisture history) on the nonevaporable water in hydrated cement composites. In order to achieve this, a thermogravimetric method which separates different types of nonevaporable water (bound in different hydrates and hydroxide) and carbonation products was developed. 2. Fuel conversion and ash formation interactions : a thermochemical study on lignocellulosic biomass
Abstract : Biomass is considered to be CO2 neutral, and to be able to reduce the dependency on fossil fuels the need for expanded and sustainable biomass feedstock is increasing. Ash-related problems are some of the most important aspects of this increasing use of new biomass assortments in thermal energy conversion systems. READ MORE

3. A novel solar-driven system for two-step conversion of CO2 with ceria-based catalysts
Abstract : Global warming is an unequivocal fact proved by the persistent rise of the average temperature of the earth. IPCC reported that scientists were more than 90 % certain that most of the global warming was caused by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHG) produced by human activities. READ MORE

4. Applications of Solid-Phase Microextraction to Chemical Characterization of Materials Used in Road Construction
Abstract : Environmental and health aspects of road materials have been discussed for a long time, mostly regarding bitumen and bitumen fumes. However, just a few studies on other types of road materials have been reported. READ MORE

5. Sintering of water-atomized iron and low-alloyed steel powder
Abstract : Iron and steel powder grades are extensively used in the powder metallurgy (PM) industry for manufacturing of ferrous structural components, with a major customer in the automotive industry. The powder grades are predominantly manufactured by water-atomization, yielding powder particles with highly irregular morphology and good compressibility, making the powder ideal for the conventional press-and-sinter manufacturing route.
