  1. 1. Electrochemically nanostructured electrodes for Li-ion microbatteries

    Author : David Rehnlund; Leif Nyholm; Reiner Lomoth; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electrodeposition; 3D; Li-ion microbatteries; thin films;

    Abstract : Electrodeposition is a promising technique for fabricating complex nanostructures and coating these with suitable thin films of active materials. The research presented in this thesis aims at the development of new electro- chemical methods for the synthesis of nanostructured electrodes suitable for Li-ion microbatteries. READ MORE

  2. 2. Electrochemical Deposition of Nanostructured Metal/Metal-Oxide Coatings

    Author : Jonas Eskhult; Leif Nyholm; Jan-Otto Carlsson; Jay Switzer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Inorganic chemistry; electrochemical deposition; local pH; Cu2O; Sb2O3; complex; EQCM; reduction; Oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : Electrochemical deposition finds applications in the electronics- and protective coating industries. The technique is a versatile tool for the synthesis of alloys and thin films. Knowledge of the fundamental aspects of the electrode processes enables the design of nanostructured materials. READ MORE

  3. 3. Insights into Electrochemical Energy Storage by use of Nanostructured Electrodes

    Author : David Rehnlund; Leif Nyholm; Kristina Edström; Fredrik Björefors; Emanuel Peled; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Kemi med inriktning mot oorganisk kemi; Chemistry with specialization in Inorganic Chemistry;

    Abstract : Template-assisted electrodeposition is a powerful technique for fabricating complex nanostructured electrodes. Through the use of pulsed-electrodeposition nanostructured electrodes of Al, Cu and Sn have been realised and subsequently coated electrochemically with V2O5, MnxO, Li, Cu2O and a polymer electrolyte. 4. 4. Metal-Chelate Complexes in Alkaline Solution : On Recovery Techniques and Cellulose-based Hybrid Material Synthesis

    Author : Alireza Eivazihollagh; Håkan Edlund; Magnus Norgren; Joakim Bäckström; Christian Ekberg; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : For decades, aminopolycarboxylate chelating agents have been extensively used in various industrial applications. The ability of chelating agents to form stable metal-chelate complexes is the main reason for using them to manage metal ions within water-based industrial processes. READ MORE

  5. 5. Characterization of interfaces by elastic light scattering and profilometry

    Author : Tomas Lindström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Solid State Physics; fasta tillståndets fysik;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the characterization of interfaces by elastic light scattering and profilometry. The sensitivity of scattering measurements to surface topography were used in two major ways. It was shown that surface reactions in a liquid-solid interface can be monitored in situ in terms of changes in surface roughness. READ MORE
