  1. 1. Exposure to indoor allergens and relation to sensitization and asthma in children

    Author : Abdul Kashem Mohamma Munir; Ulrich Wahn; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : The indoor environment plays a major role for sensitization and elicitation of allergic disease. In this thesis major allergens from house dust mite, cats and dogs were quantitated in dust samples from various indoor locations, i.e. homes of children, Day-care centers and schools. READ MORE

  2. 2. Full Cycle Engine Simulations with Detailed Chemistry

    Author : Adina Gogan; Värmeöverföring; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; plasmas; Gaser; Gases; fluid dynamics; aktuariematematik; programmering; operationsanalys; Statistik; actuarial mathematics; programming; operations research; Statistics; detailed kinetics; emissions; engine knock; autoignition; modeling; spark ignition engine; diesel engine; fluiddynamik; plasma; Technological sciences; Teknik; Thermal engineering; applied thermodynamics; Termisk teknik; termodynamik; Motors and propulsion systems; Motorer; framdrivningssystem; stochastic reactor model;

    Abstract : The modeling work developed in this thesis can be divided in two main areas of investigations: autoignition related to spark ignition engine and combustion and emissions formation in relation to diesel engines. A first version of a detailed kinetics engine simulation program, extended to handle full cycle calculations, was employed in order to demonstrate the strong effect that nitric oxide from the residual gas has on the autoignition onset. 3. 3. Molecular mechanisms and targets of new anticancer treatments

    Author : Amirata Saei Dibavar; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The work presented in this thesis is an effort to decipher and understand the mechanism of action (MOA) of anticancer agents by building on and complementing chemical proteomics methods. The backbone of the thesis relies on a recent method called Functional Identification of Target by Expression Proteomics (FITExP) developed in Zubarev lab, where drug induced proteomic signatures are analyzed in various cell lines and top differentially regulated proteins with consistent behavior are determined, among which the drug target and mechanistic proteins are usually present. 4. 4. Nucleoside analog phosphorylation and mitochondrial enzymes : studies on molecular targets of the anti-leukemic compound 9-beta-D-arabinofuranosylguanine

    Author : Sophie Curbo; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Nucleoside analogs are commonly used in treatment of cancer and viral infections. A way to improve the therapies would be to minimize the acquirement of resistance and side effects such as delayed cytotoxicity. READ MORE
