  1. 1. Echocardiography/Doppler for the evaluation of coronary artery function, left ventricular function and the relationship between early diastolic and systolic function

    Author : Reidar Winter; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2003]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; coronary flow reserve; contrast echocardiography; early diastolic downward velocity; flow propagation velocity; colour M-mode; diastolic function; Echocardiography; Doppler; Kardiovaskulära systemet; Cardiovascular system;

    Abstract : Popular Abstract in Swedish Ultraljudundersökning av hjärtat (ekokardiografi) har under det senaste decenniet fått en alltmer framträdande roll i diagnostiken av hjärtsjukdomar och används ofta för att vägleda medicinska beslut inom hjärtsjukvården. Ekokardiografi är av central betydelse framförallt vid undersökning av vänsterkammarens pumpförmåga (systoliska funktion) och hjärtklaffarnas funktion. READ MORE

  2. 2. Diastolic left ventricular filling in 50-year-old male and female adults : Evaluation by Doppler echocardiography

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Toomas Kangro; Uppsala universitet.; [1998]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medical sciences; Arterial distensibility; diastole; Doppler echocardiography; exercise; healthy persons; hypertension; LV filling; menopause; medicin; vård; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Clinical Physiology; Klinisk fysiologi;

    Abstract : Left ventricular (LV) diastolic filling abnormalities are seen in many patients with various cardiac disorders. Age is an important determinant of Doppler indices of LV diastolic filling. READ MORE

  3. 3. Reproducibility and interpretation in tissue Doppler echocardiography

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Fysik

    Author : Camilla Storaa; KTH.; [2004]
    Keywords : ultrasound; echocardiography;

    Abstract : As cardiovascular disease is the single most common cause ofdeath in the western world, and since there is a closeconnection between cardiovascular disease and left ventricular(LV) function, good methods for the assessment of LV functionis highly needed. A widely used tool for the diagnosis of LVdisease is echocardiography, a technique which today faces twodi_culties; the low reproducibility and the subjectiveinterpretation. READ MORE

  4. 4. New insights in the assessment of right ventricular function an echocardiographic study

    University dissertation from Umeå : Umeå university

    Author : Avin Calcutteea; Umeå universitet.; [2013]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; echocardiography; right ventricle; ischaemic heart disease; pulmonary hypertension; aortic stenosis; aortic valve replacement; three dimensional echocardiography; speckle tracking echocardiography; Cardiology; kardiologi;

    Abstract : Background:  The right ventricle (RV) is multi-compartmental in orientation with a complex structural geometry. However, assessment of this part of the heart has remained an elusive clinical challenge. READ MORE

  5. 5. Cardiac morphology and dynamics in Swedish elite orienteers : Evaluation of the right and left ventricle by two-dimensional and doppler echocardiography

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Egil Henriksen; Uppsala universitet.; [1999]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medical sciences; Echocardiography; sudden unexpected death in young orienteers; right and left ventricular measurements; Doppler echocardiography in athletes; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Clinical Physiology; klinisk fysiologi;

    Abstract : Background. Between 1979 and 1992, 16 (15 males and 1 female) sudden unexpected cardiac deaths(SUCD) were reported in Swedish orienteers. Compared with previous reports in young athletes there was a 10- to 100-fold increase in the sudden death rate in young male elite orienteers during this period. The mean age was 25 years (range 18-32 years). READ MORE
