1. Mangafodipir trisodium (MnDPDP)-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging of the liver and pancreas
Abstract : Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the liver and pancreas is frequently performed to improve the sensitivity and specificity of lesion detection in these organs. The concept of using tissue-specific contrast media is to selectively enhance the normal parenchyma, but not lesions, so that the contrast between tumorous and normal tissue is increased, and lesion detectability improved. 2. The MEN 1 Pancreas : Tumor Development and Haploinsufficiency
Abstract : Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type I Syndrome (MEN 1) is a monogenic autosomal dominantly inherited cancer syndrome caused by a heterozygous loss of the MEN1 gene, predisposing for endocrine cell proliferation and tumor formation. MEN 1 carriers classically develop tumors in endocrine organs; the parathyroids, the endocrine pancreas, and the pituitary. READ MORE

3. Tissue Microarrays for Analysis of Expression Patterns
Abstract : Proteins are essential building blocks in every living cell, and since the complete human genome was sequenced in 2004, researchers have attempted to map the human proteome, which is the functional representation of the genome. One such initiative is the Human Protein Atlas programme (HPA), which generates monospecific antibodies towards all human proteins and uses these for high-throughput tissue profiling on tissue microarrays (TMAs). 4. Pancreatic Growth and Secretion. An Experimental Study on Growth Factors in Rat and Mouse
Abstract : The pancreas is a central organ in the digestion of food as well as in glucose metabolism. Its two major functions are exocrine and endocrine secretion. READ MORE

5. Overcoming the Barriers of Fine-Needle Aspiration
Abstract : Cysts, closed sac-like structures filled with fluid or air, can form anywhere in the body. In the majority of cases, cysts are benign (not cancerous). However, these structures can also be precursors of cancer, pointing to the location where cancer can originate. READ MORE
