21. Dual-energy imaging in stroke : feasibility of dual-layer detector cone-beam computed tomography
Abstract : Background: Dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) is increasingly available and used in the standard diagnostic setting of ischemic stroke patients. For stroke patients with suspected large vessel occlusion, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in the interventional suite could be an alternative to CT to shorten door to thrombectomy time. 22. Healing of endosseous implants with different surface characteristics in grafted and non-grafted bone : clinical and experimental studies
Abstract : Aims: This study uses radiological and clinical evaluations of the healing of endosseous titanium implants presented with different surface characteristics in the clinical situation (paper I-III) and experimentally to describe the early bone healing in maxillary sinus membrane elevation with and without the use of grafting material (paper IV).Material and methods: In paper I, 136 patients were treated with 394 dental implants – 199 were oxidized titanium implants (Nobel Biocare TiUnite) and 195 were turned titanium surface implants (Nobel Biocare Mark III). 23. Open vs closed exposure of palatally displaced canines : clinical, patient-related outcomes and health economics
Abstract : The maxillary permanent canine usually erupts in the mouth between the ages of 11 and 12 years. Sometimes the canines are displaced toward the palatal side of the dental arch and eruption is disturbed. Palatally displaced canines (PDCs) are a frequent dental anomaly, present in 2% of the young population. READ MORE

24. Development and characterization of sensitive, energy-independent solid-state photon dosemeters with high spatial and temporal resolution. Applications in clinical radiology and radiation protection
Abstract : AbstractModern medicine and health care rely on a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and methods that involve ionizing radiation. To guarantee quality and the safety of patients and staff, advanced radiation detectors and dosemeters are needed that have low energy and operate with directional independence for X-ray and γ-ray photons. 25. Validation and clinical implementation of an MRI-only prostate cancer radiotherapy workflow
Abstract : The radiotherapy workflow for prostate cancer is associated with systematic uncertainty stemming from the registration between the computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) images. A radiotherapy workflow based solely on MR imaging (MRI), called an MRI-only workflow, has been suggested as a means of eliminating this uncer¬tainty. READ MORE
