  1. 1. Systems Analysis for Eco-Industrial Development : Applied on Cement and Biogas Production Systems

    Author : Roozbeh Feiz; Mats Eklund; Jonas Ammenberg; Olli Salmi; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; industrial ecology; eco-industrial development; multi-criteria analysis; life-cycle assessment; MCA; LCA; uncertainty management; systems analysis; industrial symbiosis; cement; biogas; cement production; biogas solutions;

    Abstract : Our industrial systems are not sustainable—a major challenge which demands several types of responses. Eco-industrial development can be seen as such a response, with the goal to establish industrial systems that are both ecological and economical. Industrial Ecology is another closely related response. READ MORE

  2. 2. Rheology of cement grout  : Ultrasound based in-line measurement technique and grouting design parameters

    Author : Mashuqur Rahman; Stefan Larsson; Ulf Håkansson; Olafur Wallevik; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; grouting; grouting design; cement grout; Bingham number; shear rate; plug flow; thixotropy; yield stress; in-line rheology; UVP PD; Flow-Viz; viscosity bifurcation; aging; off-line rheometry; pump characteristics; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Byggvetenskap;

    Abstract : Grouting is performed in order to decrease the permeability and increase the stiffness of the material, especially soil and rock. For tunnelling and underground constructions, permeation grouting is done where cement based materials are pumped inside drilled boreholes under a constant pressure, higher than the ground water pressure. 3. 3. Climate Change and Industrial Technology Transfer. A Study of Chinese Conditions

    Author : Joakim Nordqvist; Miljö- och energisystem; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Environment; Emissions; China; Development; Bureaucracy; Cement; Miljöteknik; kontroll av utsläpp; pollution control; Environmental technology; Technology management; Sustainability; Policy; Energy; Modernisation;

    Abstract : Motivated by concerns about anthropogenic climate change, this thesis contributes to the better appreciation of mechanisms that would allow actors in China, foreign as well as Chinese, to exert a positive influence on the country's industrial technology status. China is the world's second largest emitter of greenhouse gases - the lions' share of which emanates from industrial and electricity production. READ MORE

  4. 4. Industrial Ecology and Development of Production Systems : Analysis of the CO2  Footprint of Cement

    Author : Roozbeh Feiz; Mats Eklund; Jonas Ammenberg; Henrikke Baumann; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; industrial ecology; industrial symbiosis; industrial development; life cycle assessment; multi-criteria assessment; CO2 footprint; cement;

    Abstract : This research is an attempt to create a comprehensive assessment framework for identifying and assessing potential improvement options of cement production systems.From an environmental systems analysis perspective, this study provides both an empirical account and a methodological approach for quantifying the CO2 footprint of a cement production system. 5. 5. Moisture permeability of mature concrete, cement mortar and cement paste

    Author : Göran Hedenblad; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; moisture transport; cement paste; moisture permeability; concrete; moisture flow; cement mortar;

    Abstract : Moisture permeability tests were performed on specimens of concrete, cement mortar and cement paste with the bottom side in water or in moist air and the upper side in a relative humidity of 33 %. The distribution of the relative humidity within the specimen was measured, at stationary conditions, as well as the amount of water which pass through the specimen. READ MORE
