  1. 1. Understanding development of dynamic capabilities in industrialized house building : A case study

    Author : Petri Uusitalo; Lars Stehn; Susanne Engström; Micael Thunberg; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Industrialized house building; Dynamic capability; Case study; Byggproduktion och teknik; Construction Management and Building Technology;

    Abstract : Industrialized house building of multi-storey residential buildings is not only gaining practical importance in Sweden but is also emphasized as a way for companies to address the demands for lower and more predictable production costs, shorter delivery times and higher product quality. However, to be competitive on the market, IHB companies need to protect and capitalize their specific investments into platforms and organizations. READ MORE

  2. 2. Structural Control and Identification of Civil Engineering Structures

    Author : Tarek Edrees; Francesc Pozo; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Construction Engineering and Management; Byggproduktion; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Abstract : In general, the main purpose of a structural control system is to apply powerful control techniques that improve the behaviour of civil structures under various kinds of dynamic loading. The first part of this thesis presents novel applications of posicast and input shaping control schemes that have never previously been applied in the field of structural control. READ MORE

  3. 3. On cooperation and efficiency in the construction-related wood industry

    Author : Anders Bystedt; Staffan Brege; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Träteknik; Wood Technology;

    Abstract : Multiple studies have raised concerns about the construction area and issues such as low quality, high costs, low profitability and lack of innovations. Major parts of the processes are project based and characterised by one-of-a-kind setups in which the unique characteristics come from production setup, site, and temporary organisations. READ MORE

  4. 4. Environmental assessment in building and construction

    Author : Wolfram Trinius; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Access to tools for environmental assessment is aprecondition for identifying and improving the environmentalperformance of building sector products. With the multitude ofparties involved in that sector, also the context within whichassessment results are implemented varies. READ MORE

  5. 5. Thermal Crack Risk Estimation and Material Properties of Young Concrete

    Author : Anders Hösthagen; Jan-Erik Jonasson; Mårten Larson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Thermal cracking risk; young concrete; Equivalent Restraint Method; strength development; heat of hydration; creep; shrinkage; thermal dilation; modeling; field observations; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis presents how to establish a theoretical model to predict risk of thermal cracking in young concrete when cast on ground or an arbitrary construction. The crack risk in young concrete is determined in two steps: 1) calculation of temperature distribution within newly cast concrete and adjacent structure; 2) calculation of stresses caused by thermal and moisture (due to self-desiccation, if drying shrinkage not included) changes in the analyzed structure.
