  1. 1. Energy efficiency in heritage buildings : Conservation approaches and their impact on energy efficiency measures

    Author : Tomas Örn; Agatino Rizzo; Sofia Lidelöw; Andrea Luciani; Elena Lucchi; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy efficiency heritage buildings; Arkitektur; Architecture;

    Abstract : The impeding climate change challenge urges for a reduction of energy use in the built environment. Buildings account for nearly 40% of the total energy use and about 35% of the greenhouse gas emissions in Europe. READ MORE

  2. 2. Non-Invasive Monitoring of Architectural Heritage

    Author : Jenny Hällström; Bebyggelsevård; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; remote sensing; lidar; laser-induced fluorescence; documentation; hyperspectral; non invasive; non destructive; sustainable maintenance; conservation planning; monitoring; Coliseum; architectural conservation; restoration; Övedskloster; deterioration; Lateran Baptistery; stone; brick; thematic mapping; in situ; imaging; biodeteriogens;

    Abstract : The on-site documentation and examination of architectural heritage has presented challenges for traditional analysis methods in the form of, among other things, large complex structures, sites and environmental conditions. In recent years there has been growing interest in assessing progressing deterioration processes and material analysis, with an emphasis on sustainable conservation and maintenance planning. 3. 3. Application of the Fluoresecence Lidar Techniques in the Architectural Heritage

    Author : Jenny Hällström; Bebyggelsevård; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; architectural heritage; stone; brick; conservation; restoration; case studies; building investigation; lidar; fluorescence; laser; masonry;

    Abstract : The primary aim of the research project is to analyse the potential for the application of lidar and fluorescence techniques in building investigation, and also to establish a scientific remote-sensing method for surveying and analysing the historical facade that is non-destructive and can be used in-situ. The fluorescence lidar method uses point-monitoring and scanning of areas that can provide multispectral images in order to identify materials, biodeteriogens and other substances not visible to the human eye.
