6. Functionalization of polymer electrolytes for electrochromic windows
Abstract : Saving energy in buildings is of great importance because about 30 to 40 % of the energy in the world is used in buildings. An electrochromic window (ECW), which makes it possible to regulate the inflow of visible light and solar energy into buildings, is a promising technology providing a reduction in energy consumption in buildings along with indoor comfort. 7. Characterization of interfaces by elastic light scattering and profilometry
Abstract : This thesis deals with the characterization of interfaces by elastic light scattering and profilometry. The sensitivity of scattering measurements to surface topography were used in two major ways. It was shown that surface reactions in a liquid-solid interface can be monitored in situ in terms of changes in surface roughness. READ MORE

8. Preparation and characterization of sputtered metal oxides and nitrides for optical applications
Abstract : Sputter deposited metal oxide and nitride thin films have been studied for energy-efficient window applications. Coatings, for both static and dynamic control of radiative heat transfer through windows, were optically characterized. As metal base in static solar selective coatings, semi-transparent TiN and ZrN films have been investigated. READ MORE

9. High-rate reactive magnetron sputter deposition and characterization of metal oxide films
Abstract : Molybdenum oxide films with good electrochromic properties were produced by single- and dual-target sputtering. Dual-target deposition was shown to be able of yielding optically functional films at much higher rates than that for single-target depositions. READ MORE

10. Design, Synthesis and Characterization of Conjugated Polymers for Photovoltaics and Electrochromics
Abstract : With the invention of organic electronics, a new class of materials needed to be explored and suitable applications found. The use as semiconductors in many different devices has been explored, where photovoltaics, light-emitting diodes and field-effect transistors have been prominent. READ MORE
