    Abstract : In response to technological advances, especially in the field of information and communication technology (ICT), the so called revolution in military affairs (RMA) and later the concept of network-centric warfare (NCW) emerged as a theory to further utilize technology for military command and control (C2). Advocates of the Swedish ROLF 2010-vision and the concept of NCW have made claims and assumptions that future technology will improve mission effectiveness by, for example, increasing the understanding of a current situation and its development, the speed of command, and providing means to utilize more efficient forms of organizations. 2. 2. Network on Chip : Performance Bound and Tightness

    Author : Xueqian Zhao; Zhonghai Lu; José Flich Cardo; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Network-on-Chip; Performance analysis; Network Calculus; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Abstract : Featured with good scalability, modularity and large bandwidth, Network-on-Chip (NoC) has been widely applied in manycore Chip Multiprocessor (CMP) and Multiprocessor System-on-Chip (MPSoC) architectures. The provision of guaranteed service emerges as an important NoC design problem due to the application requirements in Quality-of-Service (QoS). READ MORE

  3. 3. Design and Analysis of On-Chip Communication for Network-on-Chip Platforms

    Author : Zhonghai Lu; Axel Jantsch; Kees Goossens; KTH; []

    Abstract : Due to the interplay between increasing chip capacity and complex applications, System-on-Chip (SoC) development is confronted by severe challenges, such as managing deep submicron effects, scaling communication architectures and bridging the productivity gap. Network-on-Chip (NoC) has been a rapidly developed concept in recent years to tackle the crisis with focus on network-based communication. READ MORE

  4. 4. Designing for added pedagogical value : A design-based research study of teachers’ educational design with ICT

    Author : Jörgen Holmberg; Uno Fors; Göran Fransson; Jo Tondeur; Stockholms universitet; []

    Abstract : In an increasingly digitized world teachers are expected to take on the role of educational designers and use ICT to design in ways that add pedagogical value to teaching and learning. This thesis adopts a design-based research (DBR) approach to: (a) explore and contribute to the educational design processes of teachers of English as a foreign language in their efforts to use ICT for added pedagogical value, (b) examine how ICT is used in educational designs to create/contribute to what the teachers and students describe as added value and (c) explore, problematize and refine DBR as a research approach.
