16. Correlation effects in ionic perovskite crystals
Abstract : Perovskites are a large family of versatile materials with favourable properties for spintronics and optoelectronics applications. The mineral CaTiO3 defines the archetypal crystal structure of perovskite materials with a general composition ABX3. READ MORE

17. Graphene spin circuits and spin-orbit phenomena in van der Waals heterostructures with topological insulators
Abstract : Spintronics offers an alternative approach to conventional charge-based information processing by using the electron spin for next-generation non-volatile memory and logic technologies. To realize such technologies, it is necessary to develop spin-polarized current sources, spin interconnects, charge-to-spin conversion processes, and gate-tunable spintronic functionalities. 18. Structural, Electronic and Mechanical Properties of Advanced Functional Materials
Abstract : The search for alternate and renewable energy resources as well as the efficient use of energy and development of such systems that can help to save the energy consumption is needed because of exponential growth in world population, limited conventional fossil fuel resources, and to meet the increasing demand of clean and environment friendly substitutes. Hydrogen being the simplest, most abundant and clean energy carrier has the potential to fulfill some of these requirements provided the development of efficient, safe and durable systems for its production, storage and usage. 19. Microwave Frequency Stability and Spin Wave Mode Structure in Nano-Contact Spin Torque Oscillators
Abstract : The nano-contact spin torque oscillator (NC-STO) is an emerging device for highly tunable microwave frequency generation in the range from 0.1 GHz to above 65 GHz with an on-chip footprint on the scale of a few μm. READ MORE

20. Magnetodynamics of pseudo spin valves investigated using co-planar waveguide and spin torque ferromagnetic resonance techniques
Abstract : Nanocontact spin-torque nano-oscillators (NC-STNOs), based on magnetic multilayers, can generate a wide range of highly nonlinear localized and propagating spin wave modes for use in magnonics. In this thesis, we study some aspects of these structures from the fundamental physics point of view using the spin torque ferromagnetic resonance technique (ST-FMR) and conventional broadband FMR technique.
