    Abstract : A new manufacturing paradigm may lower the cost and environmental impact of existing products, as well as enable completely new products. Large scale, roll-to-roll manufacturing of flexible electronics and other functionality has great potential. READ MORE

  3. 3. ZrB2 Thin Films : Growth and Characterization

    Author : Lina Tengdelius; Hans Högberg; Urban Forsberg; Gregory S. Girolami; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Zirconium diboride, ZrB2, is a ceramic material with bulk properties such as high melting point (3245 °C), high hardness (23 GPa), and low resistivity (~8 μΩcm). Thin film growth of ZrB2 using physical vapor deposition has suffered from problems with films deviating from stoichiometry and with high levels of contaminants, especially high oxygen content. 4. 4. MAX phase thin films : unique multifunctional ceramics with the elements Ti, Si, Ge, Sn, and C

    Author : Jens Emmerlich; Wolfhard Möller; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Thin solid films; Single-crystal; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : Mn+1AXn phases are ternary carbides or nitrides (X) consisting of an early transition metal (M), and (A)- group element (group III-V). They combine ceramic and metallic properties with high oxidation and thermal shock resistance as well as low resistivity. READ MORE

  5. 5. Nanostructured carbon-based thin films : prediction and design
