  1. 21. Ferromagnetic Resonance as a Probe of Magnetization Dynamics : A Study of FeCo Thin Films and Trilayers

    Author : Yajun Wei; Peter Svedlindh; Sujeet Chaudhary; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ferromagnetic resonance FMR ; Gilbert damping; magnetic coupling; FeCo;

    Abstract : The high frequency dynamic magnetic responses of FeCo thin films and structures have been investigated mainly using ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) technique.The FMR resonance condition and linewidth are first derived from the dynamic Landau- Lifshitz-Gilbert equation, followed by a study of the conversion between FMR field and frequency linewidths. 2. 22. The role of interfaces in oxide thin films

    Author : Tomas Liljenfors; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; thin film; LSMO; EELS; grain boundary; BSTO; interfaces; LCMO; manganites; BTO; bicrystal; TEM; HRTEM; microstructure;

    Abstract : The role of interfaces in oxide thin films has been investigated from a microstructural point of view. Thin films of manganites and titanates have been investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). READ MORE

  3. 23. Synthesis and Characterization of Ternary Carbide Thin Films

    Author : Ola Wilhelmsson; Ulf Jansson; Michael Stueber; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Chemistry; Thin film; dc magnetron sputtering; tribology; carbide; PVD; MAX-phase; DFT; solid solution; Kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis reports on synthesis, microstructure and properties of binary and ternary carbide thin films deposited by dc magnetron sputtering. These materials are interesting since they exhibit a wide range of useful properties, such as high hardness, resistance to wear and oxidation, and high electrical conductivity. READ MORE

  4. 24. Properties of Multifunctional Oxide Thin Films Despostied by Ink-jet Printing

    Author : Mei Fang; Lyubov Belova; K. Venkat Rao; Gillian Gehring; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ink-jet printing; oixde; thin film; ink; suspension; dye sensitized solar cell; functional properties; magnetism; diluted magnetic semiconductors;

    Abstract : Ink-jet printing offers an ideal answer to the emerging trends and demands of depositing at ambient temperatures picoliter droplets of oxide solutions into functional thin films and device components with a high degree of pixel precision. It is a direct single-step mask-free patterning technique that enables multi-layer and 3D patterning. READ MORE

  5. 25. Engineering Magnetic Droplets in Nanocontact Spin-Torque Nano-Oscillators

    Author : Sheng Jiang; Johan Åkerman; Dario Arena; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Magnetic Droplet; Magnetic Tunnel Junction; Perpendicular Magnetic Anisotropy; Spin-torque Nano-Oscillators; Spin-Valve.; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : Spin-torque nano-oscillators (STNOs) are nanoscale spintronic devices capable of generating highly tunable broadband microwave signals. In this thesis, I study nanocontact (NC)-based STNOs using strong perpendicular magnetic anisotropy(PMA) free layers, where a novel magnetic soliton—a magnetic droplet—exists. READ MORE
