1. Grid Connected Three-Level Converters : Studies for Wave Energy Conversion
Abstract : This thesis presents an electrical system analysis of a wave energy converter (WEC) for the objective of grid connection. To transfer the enormous amount of power from waves to the load centers, efficient power electronic systems are essential. READ MORE

2. High-Level Synthesis for SiLago : Advances in Optimization of High-Level Synthesis Tool and Neural Network Algorithms
Abstract : Embedded hardware designs and their automation improve energy and engineering efficiency. However, these two goals are often contradictory. The attempts to improve energy efficiency often come at the cost of engineering efficiency and vice-versa. High-level synthesis (HLS) is a good example of this challenge. READ MORE

4. Learning Chemistry at the University level : Student attitudes, motivation, and design of the learning environment
Abstract : The main purpose of the research this thesis is based upon was to study students’ attitudes towards learning chemistry at university level and their motivation from three perspectives. How can students’ attitudes towards learning chemistry be assessed? How can these attitudes be changed? How are learning situations experienced by students with different attitude positions? An attitude questionnaire, assessing views of knowledge, learning assessments, laboratory activities, and perceived roles of instructors and student, was used to estimate students’ attitude positions. 5. Monolith Reactors in Three-Phase Processes
Abstract : The use of monoliths in chemical processes has been studied with the emphasis on liquid-phase hydrogenations. A monolithic catalyst consists of many narrow, parallel channels with catalytically active species either incorporated into the wall itself or into a layer of a porous oxide deposited on the wall (a washcoat).
