  1. 1. PET studies of the serotonin system in major depression and its treatment

    Author : Mikael Tiger; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The serotonin system has been implicated in major depression since the 1960s, mainly based on the serotonin enhancing properties of antidepressants. Positron emission tomography, PET, is the in vivo molecular imaging method with the best spatial resolution. READ MORE

  2. 2. Signal transduction in the brain : modulation of receptor-mediated inositol phospholipid breakdown by potassium and fluoride ions

    Author : Gunnar Tiger; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Inositol phospholipid breakdown; muscarinic receptors; potassium; fluoride; rat brain; pig brain;

    Abstract : Neurotransmitter receptor types mediating the generation of intracellular signals are of two types; ligand-gated ion channels and G protein coupled receptors. The effector enzyme phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C (PLC) is modulated by stimulation of G protein coupled receptors, leading to an increased breakdown of inositol phospholipids ("Ptdlns breakdown"). 3. 3. Safety-Aware Autonomous Systems : Preparing Robots for Life in the Real World

    Author : Mattias Tiger; Fredrik Heintz; Patrick Doherty; Rachid Alami; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Real‐world autonomous systems are expected to be increasingly deployed and operating in real‐world environments over the coming decades. Autonomous systems such as AI‐enabled robotic systems and intelligent transportation systems, will alleviate mundane human work, provide new services, and facilitate a smarter and more flexible infrastructure. 4. 4. Cellular Interactions with Extracellular Matrix During Development and in Muscle Disease

    Author : Carl-Fredrik Tiger; Anders Aspberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; integrin; laminin; collagen; muscle; tendon; skeleton; mouse; human; development; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Abstract : The formation and maintenance of tissues in multicellular animals are crucially dependent on cellular interactions with the extracellular matrix (ECM). Two different studies on such interactions are presented herein. READ MORE

  5. 5. Morphisms of real calculi from a geometric and algebraic perspective

    Author : Axel Tiger Norkvist; Joakim Arnlind; Stefan Wagner; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; noncommutative geometry; embeddings; matrix algebras; real calculi; morphisms; free module; projective module;

    Abstract : Noncommutative geometry has over the past four of decades grown into a rich field of study. Novel ideas and concepts are rapidly being developed, and a notable application of the theory outside of pure mathematics is quantum theory. READ MORE
