    Abstract : Evolutionary knowledge is important to understand and address contemporary challenges such as loss of biodiversity, climate change and antibiotic resistance. An important aspect that is considered to be a threshold concept in teaching and learning about evolution is the time it involves. READ MORE

  3. 3. Transport, Mobility, and Workplace Location : Models and Applications

    Author : Fatemeh Naqavi; Muriel Beser Hugosson; Nathalie Picard; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transportsystem; Transport Systems;

    Abstract : Travel demand analysis is one of the core constituents of transportation studies. Therequired insight to maintain and develop a sustainable transportation system, in additionto learning from previous research globally and locally, is generated from studyingthe effects of previous policies, investigating future possibilities and potential outcomes,and describing the current situation. 4. 4. Towards a semantics of linguistic time : exploring some basic time concepts with special reference to English and Krio

    Author : Johan Nordlander; Umeå universitet; []

    Abstract : Using English and the West-African creole language Krio as the objects of investigation, this study proposes an analysis in which verbs and the paradigms pertaining to verbs are conceived of as being the only direct carriers of linguistic time encoding. The fundamental assumption is that nominals encode substance, be it concrete or abstract, and that verbals encode abstract substance with time. READ MORE

  5. 5. Frequency Domain Identification of Continuous-Time Systems : Reconstruction and Robustness

    Author : Jonas Gillberg; Lennart Ljung; Fredrik Gustafsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Discrete-time domain; Frequency-domain identification; Signal processing; Frequency-domain; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Approaching parameter estimation from the discrete-time domain is the dominating paradigm in system identification. Identification of continuous-time models on the other hand is motivated by the fact that modelling of physical systems often take place in continuous-time. READ MORE
