16. Single-photon multiple ionisation of atoms and molecules investigated by coincidence spectroscopy : Site-specific effects in acetaldehyde and carbon dioxide
Abstract : In this thesis, multiple ionisation processes of free atoms and molecules upon single photon absorption are studied by means of a versatile multi-electron-ion coincidence spectroscopy method based on a magnetic bottle, primarily in combination with synchrotron radiation. The latter offered the possibility to access not only valence but also core levels, revealing processes, which promote the target systems into different charge states. READ MORE

17. Photoelectron Spectroscopy on HCl and DCl : Synchrotron Radiation Based Studies of Dissociation Dynamics
Abstract : Dissociation dynamics of the ionized molecules HCl and the deuterated system DCl has been studied in gas-phase using synchrotron based photoelectron spectroscopy (PES).The inner-valence "(4σ)-1" photoionization band for DCl and HCl was recorded using maximum resolution in order to probe an interference pattern between a dissociative and a bound electronic state. 18. Time resolved laser studies of gas phase and condensed phase molecules
Abstract : Different laser based techniques have been used to study lifetimes and spectra of gas phase molecules, and non-linear optical phenomena in condensed phase materials. The lifetimes of several electronically excited states of the diatomic molecules vanadium oxide, VO, zirconium sulphide, ZrS, titanium sulphide, TiS and titanium oxide, TiO have been performed by resonant two-photon ionisation spectroscopy in a molecular beam combined with a time of flight mass spectrometer. 19. Photodetachment Studies of Negative Ion Structure
Abstract : The structure of atomic negative ions has been investigated experimentally by studying photodetachment, which is the process of photon-induced electron emission from a negative ion. The interaction between the valence electrons and the nucleus is weaker in negative ions than in atoms and positive ions. READ MORE

20. Studies of the nuclear processes of proton capture photon production and spallation neutron emission with advanced experimental techniques
Abstract : A series of nuclear reaction experiments have been performed in the intermediate energy range up to 1.6 GeV using advanced techniques to detect and measure neutral ejectiles resulting mainly from proton bombardment of both light and heavy nuclei. READ MORE
