1. Constructing and Commissioning HELIOS – A High Harmonic Generation Source for Pump-Probe Measurements with sub 50 fs Temporal Resolution : The Development of Experimental Equipment for Extreme Ultraviolet Spectroscopy
Abstract : This thesis presents HELIOS, an in-house laboratory for time-resolved pump-probe spectroscopy with extreme-ultraviolet (XUV) probe radiation. A wide span of pump wavelengths can be generated using commercial laser equipment while XUV probe radiation is generated via a high harmonic generation process in a noble gas delivering probe photons with energies between 20 eV and 72 eV. 2. Time-Resolved Spectroscopy for Pharmaceutical Applications
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis aims at improving spectroscopic techniques for analysis of pharmaceutical solids. This improvement is achieved by the combining and development of instrumentations and data evaluation tools from two research fields: the fields of near infrared spectroscopy and biomedical optics. 3. Time resolved molecular laser spectroscopy
Abstract : A number of experimental and theoretical schemes have been employed to perform time resolved investigations on diatomic molecules. Laser excitation of the molecule in question is the common ground in the cases discussed. READ MORE

4. Time Resolved Diffraction Studies of Structural Changes in Sensory Rhodopsin
Abstract : Responding to different light conditions is an essential process for many organisms on earth. Unicellular organisms are no exception to this and mechanisms for controlling cellular movement must often be sensitive to light. READ MORE

5. Towards time-resolved molecular interaction assays in living bacteria
Abstract : Rare and neglected diseases such as multidrug resistant (MDR) tuberculosis, malaria and trypanosomiasis are re-emerging in Europe. New strategies are needed to accelerate drug discovery to fight these pathogens. READ MORE
