    Abstract : This thesis presents HELIOS, an in-house laboratory for time-resolved pump-probe spectroscopy with extreme-ultraviolet (XUV) probe radiation. A wide span of pump wavelengths can be generated using commercial laser equipment while XUV probe radiation is generated via a high harmonic generation process in a noble gas delivering probe photons with energies between 20 eV and 72 eV. 2. 2. Excited-state dynamics of small organic molecules studied by time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy

    Author : Ting Geng; Richard D. Thomas; Ben Whitaker; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy; excited-state dynamics; organic molecules; kemisk fysik; Chemical Physics;

    Abstract : Ultra-violet and visible light induced processes in small organic molecules play very important roles in many fields, e.g., environmental sciences, biology, material development, chemistry, astrophysics and many others. Thus it is of great importance to better understand the mechanisms behind these processes. READ MORE

  3. 3. Spectroscopy on the Dot : Photoelectron Spectroscopy and Time-Resolved Studies of Lead Sulfide Quantum Dots for Solar Cells

    Author : Tamara Sloboda; Ute B. Cappel; Andreas Lindblad; Lars Kloo; Regan Wilks; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : Renewable energy is an important topic as global energy consumption continues to rise. Because the sun emits an enormous amount of energy, solar energy is a promising source. However, most of the commercial solar cell technology is manufactured in an energy demanding process and there is a need for new, easily processed materials. READ MORE

  4. 4. Fundamental interactions in transition metal reactions

    Author : Michael R. Coates; Michael Odelius; Markus Kowalewski; Abhik Ghosh; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quantum chemistry; electronic structure; multiconfigurational; density functional theory; molecular dynamics; excited state molecular dynamics; non-adiabatic dynamics; solvation; organometallic complexes; x-ray absorption spectroscopy; photoelectron spectroscopy; time-resolved spectroscopy; femtosecond; picosecond; kemisk fysik; Chemical Physics;

    Abstract : Transition metal complexes that participate in homogeneous reactions often perform the role of a catalyst, facilitating novel reaction pathways. When these complexes are pushed away from their equilibrium, the arrangement of the coordinating ligands around the metal center is perturbed and new reaction pathways are opened. READ MORE
