  1. 1. Hydrogen in the European energy system - The cost dynamics and the value of time-shifting electricity generation

    Author : Simon Öberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cost; energy systems modeling; Hydrogen; gas turbine; system dynamics; time-shifting;

    Abstract : If the European Union is to become climate-neutral by Year 2050, as envisioned in the European Green Deal, the European energy system must undergo an unprecedented transformation towards eliminating its carbon emissions. For this transition, renewable electricity plays a central role, not only in replacing the current fossil-based electricity generation, but also in promoting the electrification of other sectors, such as transport and industry, sectors which are currently based on fossil fuels. 2. 2. Hybrid energy storage systems : Capacity optimization and environmental implication of hybrid energy storage systems in renewable power systems

    Author : Yang Jiao; Daniel Månsson; Alfred Rufer; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : Electricity production contributes a large share of greenhouse gas emissions that lead to climate change. At present, power generation in many parts of the world still heavily depends on fossil fuels. To prevent global warming, the electricity sector is supposed to transition from the current fuel mix to renewable energy sources. READ MORE

  3. 3. Participating in Energy Systems through Everyday Designs – Exploring roles for households in a more sustainable energy future

    Abstract : As households we participate in energy systems when, in the course of our everyday energy-reliant activities, we create a demand for energy and when we engage in energy-managing activities such as choosing an energy provider and deciding to support a specific source of energy. In this way, everyday life has an impact on the energy sector, and vice versa. READ MORE
