  2. 2. Unconventional Monetary Policy at the International, National and Local Level

    Author : Martin Nordström; Pär Österholm; Niclas Kreuger; Lars Hultkrantz; Jesper Lindé; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Bayesian VAR; Cointegration; Forecast evaluation; Municipal debt; Spread; Stochastic volatility; Sveriges Riksbank; Time-varying parameters; Unconventional monetary policy;

    Abstract : This thesis is based on four essays. The first investigates time-variation in the relationship between short interest rates and consumption in the USA and Sweden. Results based on Bayesian VAR models indicate that the short rate ceased to respond to consumption shocks when constrained by the zero lower bound. READ MORE

  3. 3. Age of Information Aware Communication Systems : Modeling and Performance Analysis

    Author : Antzela Kosta; Vangelis Angelakis; Nikolaos Pappas; Viktoria Fodor; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Advances in wireless communications and networking technology have taken us towards a pervasively connected world in which a vast array of wireless devices, from mobile phones to environmental sensors, seamlessly communicate with each other. In many of these systems the freshness of the transmitted information is of high importance. READ MORE

  4. 4. Decoding the complex brain : multivariate and multimodal analyses of neuroimaging data

    Author : Alireza Salami; Lars Nyberg; Cheryl Grady; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; multivariate analysis; univariate analysis; multimodal imaging; episodic memory; aging; functional magnetic resonance imaging; diffusion tensor imaging; biology; biologi; Psychology; psykologi; datoriserad bildanalys; Computerized Image Analysis;

    Abstract : Functional brain images are extraordinarily rich data sets that reveal distributed brain networks engaged in a wide variety of cognitive operations. It is a substantial challenge both to create models of cognition that mimic behavior and underlying cognitive processes and to choose a suitable analytic method to identify underlying brain networks. 5. 5. Process modelling based on data from an evaporation and a CTMP process : Analysis of energy efficiency and process variability

    Author : Daniel Ekbåge; Lars Nilsson; Helena Håkansson; Per Engstrand; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CTMP; process modelling; evaporation; energy efficiency; Miljö- och energisystem; Environmental and Energy Systems;

    Abstract : The manufacture of pulp and paper is an energy intensive process configured of several unit processes that shape a network of flows of wood chips, chemical pulp, mechanical pulp, paperboard, steam and other important components. Improved energy efficiency supports sustainability of the process and the products. READ MORE
