  1. 11. Laser Doppler Flowmetry and Imaging: Methodological Studies

    Author : Siv Bornmyr; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Clinical physics; digital photography.; cold intolerance; sympathetic nervous system; flow cessation external pressure; skin temperature; thermography; skin blood flow; laser doppler imaging; Laser doppler flowmetry; radiology; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Abstract : Laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) and laser Doppler imaging (LDI) are modern methods for non-invasive and continuous assessment of skin blood flow. The techniques are based on the phenomenon that monochromatic light transilluminating a perfused tissue is spectrally broadened owing to scattering by moving blood cells. READ MORE

  2. 12. Therapeutic aspects of oral and pharyngeal swallowing dysfunction. Videoradiographic and videomanometric analyses of adult healthy volunteers and dysphagic patients

    Author : Margareta Bülow; Malmö Diagnostisk radiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; medical instrumentation; tomography; radiology; Clinical physics; Therapy; Videoradiography; Videomanometry; Dysphagia; Dysfunction; Swallowing; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Abstract : In this study simultaneous videoradiography and intraluminal manometry (videomanometry) have been used in combination in three studies to analyze how different therapeutic strategies affect the physiology of swallowing in healthy volunteers and in patients with pharyngeal dysfunction. Analyses of healthy volunteers showed few significant measurable effects on the pharyngeal swallow. READ MORE

  3. 13. Results and complications of endovascular neurointerventions in intracranial aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations, evaluated by conventional angiography and diffusion-perfusion MRI

    Author : Mats Cronqvist; Lund Diagnostisk radiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Endovascular treatment; medical instrumentation; tomography; radiology; Clinical physics; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Diffusion and perfusion; Complications; Magnetic Resonance Imaging; Cerbrovascular malformations; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Abstract : Aims - To describe and evaluate the efficacy and safety of intra-arterial fibrinolysis and the clinical outcome in SAH patients with thromboembolic complications during endovascular coiling of a ruptured aneurysm. (Paper I) - To describe the use and feasibility of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), especially diffusion and perfusion imaging, in three patients treated endovascularly for various cerebrovascular disorders. 4. 14. Tools for protective lung ventilation. The elastic pressure-volume curve and aspiration of dead space

    Author : Edoardo De Robertis; Lund Klinisk fysiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Clinical physics; radiology; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering; radiologi; Klinisk fysiologi; tomography; medical instrumentation; Respiratory system; Andningsorganen;

    Abstract : Ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI) may contribute to morbidity and mortality of acute lung injury (ALI). Lung protective ventilation (LPV), that reduces VILI, may involve low tidal volume (Vt). Particularly low Vt is possible if dead space ventilation is reduced e.g. READ MORE

  5. 15. Evaluation of Automatic Quantification Programs for Myocardial Perfusion SPECT using Monte Carlo Simulations

    Author : Henrik Hussein El Ali; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; radiologi; Klinisk fysiologi; medical instrumentation; Severity; Monte Carlo; Clinical physics; radiology; tomography; Myocardial perfusion; Extent;

    Abstract : Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a condition in which the blood supply to the myocardium is partially or completely blocked due to plaque build-up in the artery wall. Myocardial SPECT imaging is a commonly used technique to assess the blood flow to the myocardium and the function of the heart. READ MORE
