1. X-ray Phase Contrast Tomography : Setup and Scintillator Development
Abstract : X-ray microscopy and micro-tomography (μCT) are valuable non-destructive examination methods in many disciplines such as bio-medical research, archaeometry, material science and paleontology. Besides being implemented at synchrotrons radiation sources, laboratory setups using an X-ray tube and high-resolution scintillation detector routinely provide information on the micrometre scale. 2. Small-Animal Imaging with Liquid-Metal-Jet X-Ray Sources
Abstract : Small-animal x-ray imaging is an important tool for medical research. The penetration power of x-rays makes it possible to investigate the 3D structure of small animals and other thick biological samples by computed tomography (CT). READ MORE

3. Biological Laboratory X-Ray Microscopy
Abstract : Soft x-ray microscopy in the water window (? ≈ 2.3 − 4.3 nm) is a powerful technique for high-resolution biological imaging. The strong natural contrast between carbon-based structures and water allows visualization of hydrated and unstained samples, while providing enough transmission through up to ∼ 10 μm of organic matter. 4. Characterisation and application of a laser-based hard x-ray source
Abstract : Hard X-rays are generated by focusing 110 fs laser pulses with intensities of about 1017 W·cm-2 onto solid metal targets. Characteristic properties of this X-ray source are the small source size, the short pulse duration and the high peak flux. READ MORE

5. Conventional spiral and low-dose computed mandibular tomography for dental implant planning
Abstract : Absorbed doses to radiosensitive organs in the head and neck from pre-implant conventional hypocycloidal, conventional spiral and computed tomography (CT) were measured with thermoluminescent dosimeters in an anthropomorphic phantom head. From conventional tomography organ doses, except to the major salivary glands, were below 0.2 mGy. READ MORE
