  1. 1. Trace metals in the atmosphere : the wet deposition of trace metals : the selenium cycle

    Author : Howard B. Ross; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn, Pb and Zn concentrations in wet deposition have been monitored in Sweden since the autumn of 1983. Concentrations of these elements are highest in southern Sweden and decrease northward. Examination of enrichment factors, relative to crustal material, indicate that the major source of Cd, Cu, Pb and Zn is anthropogenic emissions. READ MORE

  2. 2. The trace of metals : Use, emissions and sediment load of urban heavy metals

    Author : Arne Jonsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH AREAS; TVÄRVETENSKAPLIGA FORSKNINGSOMRÅDEN;

    Abstract : Urban areas have been considered potential ecological hot spots for metal pollution. This is the result of three trends. First, the 20th century saw a rapid increase in the use of many materials, including metals, in the industrialized world. Second, urbanization has made towns and cities areas nodes of material flows. 3. 3. The Evolutionary Significance of Cambrian Ecdysozoan Trace Fossils

    Author : Giannis Kesidis; Graham Budd; Liam Herringshaw; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cambrian; trace fossil; Cruziana; Rusophycus; Treptichnus; Ecdysozoa;

    Abstract : The origin of most of the animal phyla is tied to the Cambrian explosion, a rapid diversification event that took place from about 540 million years ago. This diversification is coupled with a great number of concurrent metazoan body plan innovations such as the development of the coelom, antagonistic muscles and a through-gut. READ MORE

  4. 4. Digital innovation management : investigating digital trace data in online communities

    Author : Vasili Mankevich; Jonny Holmström; Ola Henfridsson; Jan Recker; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Digital innovation; digital trace data; online communities; computational methods; recombination; computer and systems sciences; data- och systemvetenskap;

    Abstract : Firms and individuals are interacting online on an unprecedented scale. These interactions may lead to new digital products, services and practices, all of which are manifestations of digital innovation. This process relies on records users leave on various digital platforms which carry information about their activities – digital trace data. READ MORE

  5. 5. Laser-Based Combustion and Trace-element Analysis

    Author : Yvonne Malmsten; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; laser-induced fluorescence; graphite furnace; trace element analysis; LEI; laser-enhanced ionisation; LIF; meta-stable; flow-tagging; NO; OH; counter-flow diffusion flame;

    Abstract : Laser spectroscopy has been utilised as a tool for combustion diagnostics and sensitive trace-element analysis. In the field of combustion analysis, a characterisation of a CH4/N2 - O2/N2 counter-flow diffusion flame has been performed using Laser-Induced Fluorescence (LIF). READ MORE
