  1. 11. Modeling Kinetics of Protein-Ligand Systems

    Author : Yang Zhou; Yaoquan Tu; Hans Ågren; David van der Spoel; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Teoretisk kemi och biologi; Theoretical Chemistry and Biology;

    Abstract : Protein-ligand interactions dominate many life activities and are crucial for thedevelopment of tracers for diagnosing diseases and drugs for treating diseases.For protein-ligand interactions, the binding affinity is conventionally believedto be the most important indicator. 2. 12. Development of Multi-Dimensional Laser Techniques for In-situ Combustion Diagnostics

    Author : Jenny Nygren; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laser Diagnsotics; Visualisation; Laser technology; Laserteknik; Motors and propulsion systems; Motorer; framdrivningssystem; Combustion; Temperature; Fysicumarkivet A:2003:Nygren;

    Abstract : Multi-dimensional, laser-based measurements of quantities important for obtaining a better understanding of combustion processes, particularly of temperature and of species distributions, were performed using laser-induced fluorescence (LIF). The main purpose of the temperature experiments was to investigate the potential of employing a two-line atomic fluorescence technique (TLAF), using indium as the tracer species, in sooting environments such as in diesel engines. 3. 13. Traceability in continuous processes : applied to ore refinement processes

    Author : Björn Kvarnström; Josse De Baerdemaeker; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Kvalitetsteknik; Quality Technology and Management;

    Abstract : Introduction and purpose: Traceability is central for the identification of the root cause(s) behind a product deviation and thus to achieve a product and process quality that is both high and even. Continuous processes contain several characteristics complicating traceability which are not usually discussed in the scientific literature. READ MORE

  4. 14. Material migration in tokamaks : Erosion-deposition patterns and transport processes

    Author : Armin Weckmann; Marek Rubel; Rudolf Neu; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEXTOR; fusion; plasma physics; transport; migration; tracers; tokamak; limiter; divertor; high-Z; ion beam analysis; Rutherford backscattering; Nuclear reaction analysis; Elastic recoil detection analysis; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : Controlled thermonuclear fusion may become an attractive future electrical power source. The most promising of all fusion machine concepts is called a tokamak. The fuel, a plasma made of deuterium and tritium, must be confined to enable the fusion process. It is also necessary to protect the wall of tokamaks from erosion by the hot plasma. READ MORE

  5. 15. Significance of transport dynamics on concentration statistics and expected mass fraction based risk assessment in the subsurface

    Author : Veljko Srzic; Vladimir Cvetkovic; Olaf A. Cirpka; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Local scale dispersion; Heterogeneity structure; Concentration moments; Moment collapse; Expected mass fraction;

    Abstract : This thesis relies on a Langrangian framework used for conservative tracer transport simulations through 2-D heterogeneous porous media. Conducted numerical simulations enable large sets of concentration values in both spatial and temporal domains. READ MORE
